Tuesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 11 games. The Madison Mallards come in clutch, scoring three runs in the extras and a throw out at the plate to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 10-8.

Royal Oak 9, Wausau 6

The Royal Oak Leprechauns used a steady offensive attack to outlast the Wausau Woodchucks 9-6. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double, tallying three RBIs, three runs, and one stolen base. Devan Zirwas (Eastern Michigan University) went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Jack Boike (Adrian College) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2, scoring three times, drawing two walks, and stealing two bases. Tristan Crane (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-5, including a double and two RBIs. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-3 with a grand slam. Javi Izaguirre (Embry-Riddle University (FL)) went 2-for-5, including an extra-base hit, scoring once, and recording one RBI. Aidan Donovan (Michigan State University) earned the win, throwing two innings with one strikeout, allowing four runs, three hits, and two walks. Fischer Hendershot (Eastern Michigan University) got the save, throwing 0.2 of an inning, striking out two of two batters faced.

Kalamazoo 17, Rockford 1

The Kalamazoo Growlers turned it around today and came out hot in the first, scoring twelve runs to help dominate the Rockford Rivets 17-1. Noah Coy (University of Notre Dame) had a day at the plate going 2-for-3, scoring twice, including a two-run double and a two-run single. Matthew Thompson (Kent State University) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, tallying three RBIs and two runs. Isaac Vanderwoude (University of Virginia) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, collecting two RBIs and two runs. Antonio Perrotta (University of Virginia) went 2-for-3, scoring once with three RBIs. Kaden Kiser (Valparaiso University) earned the win, throwing three innings with five strikeouts, allowing three walks, one run, and one hit.

Thunder Bay 9, Duluth 4

The Thunder Bay Border Cats jumped out early with five runs in the first and never looked back, topping the Duluth Huskies 9-4. Ty Hamilton (Florida SouthWestern State College) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Greg LaChance (University of Illinois) went 1-for-2, scoring once with two RBIs, drawing three walks, and recording one stolen base. Braxton Templin (Georgetown University (MD)) went 2-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Reagan Reeder (University of Illinois) went 2-for-4, including a double, one RBI, one stolen base, and one run. William Spang (Cleveland Community College (NC)) earned the win by throwing two innings, allowing three walks, two runs, and two hits. John McDonald (Creighton University (NE)) had a strong outing, throwing the first three innings, recording four strikeouts, giving up two hits, and no runs.

Traverse City 12, Kenosha 7

The Traverse City Pit Spitters plated three in the first and added five more in the fourth to build a lead over the Kenosha Kingfish to beat them 12-7. Cade Collins (Wofford College) went 2-for-5, including a three-run home run and an RBI single. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona CC) went 1-for-3, scoring three times with one RBI and three stolen bases. Brandon Sanchez (University of Northern Colorado) went 1-for-1 with a solo home run, drawing four walks, scoring four times, and stealing two bases. Jake McNamara (Palm Beach Atlantic University) went 3-for-5, including a double, scoring once, and stealing two bases. Kyle Alivo (University of Iowa) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, recording four RBIs. Jadan Boyce (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 2-for-4, including a double, one RBI, and one run. Grant Comstock (Wofford College) earned the win, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing five hits, three runs, and three walks.

Fond du Lac 9, Wisconsin Rapids 7

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders get an early lead, scoring six runs in the fourth and holding it to edge the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 9-7. Matt Hansen (Brigham Young University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, scoring twice and collecting five RBIs. Jalen Gellings (Madison CC) went 1-for-1, scoring twice with one stolen base. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with one stolen base. Jonathan Fitz (University of San Diego) went 2-for-5, scoring once with one RBI. Pat Costin (Indiana University) uses a pinch-hit opportunity, going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Ethan Cole (Augustana University (MN)) earned the win, throwing six innings with seven strikeouts, allowing three hits, one run, and one walk. Dylan Immel (University of Sioux Falls) got the save, throwing the final two innings, recording five strikeouts, allowing two hits, and no runs.

Madison 10, Green Bay 8

Collin Helms (Harding University) went 1-for-5 with a double, scoring once and recording two RBIs. Cayden Baker (Baylor University) earned the win, throwing three innings with one strikeout, allowing two hits, two walks, and no earned runs.

Battle Creek 7, Lakeshore 5

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks score some late security runs to take down the Lakeshore Chinooks 7-5. Ty Tomlinson (George Mason University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2, scoring three times, drawing two walks, and stealing two bases. Brian Heckelman (Towson University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Tyler Preece (Univeristy of Redlands) went 2-for-3, including a triple, scoring once and tallying two RBIs. Jacob Kowes (The Master’s University) went 2-for-3, including a solo home run and scoring two runs. Brett Seils (Towson University) earned the win, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing two hits.

Wilmar 4, Badlands 1

The Willmar Stingers capitalized on early offense and solid defense to defeat the Badlands Big Sticks 4-1. Jameson Martin (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Kobe Eikmeier (Augustana University (MN)) went 1-for-3, scoring once, drawing one walk, and stealing three bases. Matthew Pena (Cal State Northridge) went 2-for-4, scoring once with one stolen base. Kaden Straily (Coppin State University) earned the win, throwing five innings with two strikeouts, allowing four hits, two walks, and one run. Will Eldridge (Indiana University) got the save, shutting down the last inning with two strikeouts.

La Crosse 3, Eau Claire 2

The La Crosse Loggers held off a late rally to edge the Eau Claire Express 3-2. Eddie Peters (Xavier University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and one stolen base. Mikey Ryan III (Louisiana State University) went 1-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Ryan Costello (Louisiana State University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with one stolen base. McGwire Turner (University of Montevallo) went 2-for-4, including a two-run triple in the ninth. Howie Rickett (Madison CC) went 1-for-2, scoring once, drawing two walks, and stealing one base. Luispablo Navarro (Pima CC) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing two walks and two hits. Jack Otis (Central Michigan University) got the save, throwing 1.1 innings with one strikeout, allowing two walks, two runs, and one hit.

Mankato 5, St. Cloud 3

The Mankato MoonDogs score three runs in the eighth to top the St. Cloud Rox 5-3. Evan Saunders (Iowa Western CC) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs. Tony Lira (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 with a double, scoring twice. Cooper Neville (Iowa Western CC) went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base. Sean Griggs (University of Alabama) went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Tyson Leblanc (Kansas) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Austin Haley (Kansas State) went 2-for-4, including a triple and one run. Tanner Shumski (Minnesota State University) earned the win, throwing a 1.1 scoreless no-hit inning with one strikeout.

Minot 3, Bismarck 1

The Minot Hot Tots edged the Bismarck Larks 3-1. Henry Allen (University of Georgia) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs. Max Ortega (Cal State Fullerton) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Bryson Webb (Central Michigan University) went 2-for-4, including an extra-base hit. Jayder Raifstanger (St. John’s University) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with one RBI and drawing one walk. Ricardo Aponte (Indiana University (PA)) went 1-for-2 with a triple and scored once. Kahler Key (St. Cloud State University) earned the win, throwing seven innings with five strikeouts, allowing two walks, two hits, and one run. Kevin Schoneboom (University of Central Florida) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning with one strikeout, giving up one hit.
