Sunday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Wausau Woodchucks scored twice in the top of the tenth, including the go-ahead run, then shut the door in the bottom half to lead them to a 3-2 extra-innings victory over the Madison Mallards. The Duluth Huskies exploded for eleven runs across the final three innings and knock out five homers from five different players.

Kenosha 3, Kalamazoo 2

The Kenosha Kingfish struck for three runs in the third inning and held on the rest of the way to edge out the Kalamazoo Growlers 3-2. Trent Abel (Cal State Northridge) went 1-for-3 with a two-run double and a stolen base. Jadan Boyce (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 1-for-5 with a double and scored once. Jayce Lee (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base. Chris Rooney (Concordia University (WI)) earned the win throwing 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing three walks and one hit. Dominic Guzman (Gardner-Webb University) got the save throwing one inning striking out two of four batters faced.

Lakeshore 10, Fond du Lac 6

The Lakeshore Chinooks steadily built their lead and cruise past the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 10-6. Jack Kleveno (University of Utah) went 1-for-1 with an RBI double, collecting a total of three RBIs. Tyler Preece (Univeristy of Redlands) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with three RBIs and two stolen bases. Beckett Zavorek (Arizona State University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Jimmy Mantuano III (Fairleigh Dickinson University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Alex Kuntz (Concordia University (WI)) earned the win throwing two scoreless no-hit innings with two strikeouts giving up one walk.

Wausau 3, Madison 2

The Wausau Woodchucks scored twice in the top of the tenth, including the go-ahead run, then shut the door in the bottom half to lead them to a 3-2 extra-innings victory over the Madison Mallards. Ryan Pruitt (University of South Florida) went 1-for-5 with two RBIs, including driving in the winning run in the tenth.  Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI. Jimmy Anderson (Heartland CC) went 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Liam Moreno (St. Cloud State University) went 2-for-4 including a triple and scored once. Zach Wyatt (University of Montevallo) earned the win throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing three hits and two runs.

Mankato 7, Minot 3

The Mankato MoonDogs rallied late to top the Minot Hot Tots 7-3. Collin Jennings (University of Illinois) went 2-for-4 including a two-run home run, a double, and one run. Anthony Avalos (University of Houston) went 2-for-4 with a double scoring once and recording one RBI and one stolen base. Miken Miller (Johnson County CC) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Christian Stratis (The Citadel) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Charlie Kalbrener (Iowa Western CC) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Sam Stockman (University of Utah) earned the win throwing four innings with five strikeouts allowing six hits, two runs, and two walks.

Wisconsin Rapids 15, Green Bay 5

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters exploded for eleven runs in the final three innings, including an eight-run eighth, to surge past the Green Bay Rockers 15-5. Spencer Davis (Hope International University) went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run. Madden Ocko (Fordham University) went 1-for-4 scoring three times with three RBIs and one stolen base. Andre Modugno (University of Alabama) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with a double and one stolen base. Noah Ruiz (Biola University) went 1-for-5 with a bases-clearing triple and scoring once. Jack Guerrero (James Madison University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with three RBIs. David Ballenilla (Central Arizona College) went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Brayden Buchanan (Baylor University) went 1-for-3 with a double, recording one RBI and two runs. Matthew Pinal (Hope International University) earned the win throwing three innings with one strikeout allowing five hits, three runs, and one walk.

Waterloo 15, Eau Claire 6

The Waterloo Bucks erupted for twelve runs over the final three innings, including a sixth-run ninth, to pull away from the Eau Claire Express in a 15-6 victory. Bennet Fryman (Blinn JC) was an RBI machine with a monster outing going 4-for-5 with a pair of three-run home runs, tallying eight RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base. Jimmy Nugent (Lincoln Trail CC) also had a day going 3-for-6 with a three-run home run and a two-run home run, recording five RBIs and three runs. Caleb Parker (UW-Platteville) went 3-for-4 scoring once with three stolen bases. Ethan Rossi (Eastern Illinois University) went 2-for-5 scoring three times with one RBI. Jackson Glueck (Pima CC) went 3-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Grant Parker (Southeastern (IA) CC) earned the win throwing 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout and giving up one hit.

Rockford 6, Royal Oak 5

The Rockford Rivets built an early lead and never looked back, holding off a late surge from the Royal Oak Leprechauns to win 6-5. Nolan Belcher (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-2 with an RBI double, collecting two RBIs and one run. Zeb Allen (University of Central Arkansas) went 3-for-5 including a triple and a double, recording one RBI and one run. Dylan Larkins (Georgetown University) went 3-for-4 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Matt Ineich (Ohio University) went 1-for-5 with a two-run double. Gus Allred (University of Northern Colorado) earned the win throwing 3.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing three walks and two hits.

St. Cloud 4, Bismarck 1

The St. Cloud Rox used a late three-run eighth inning to break a tie and take down the Bismarck Larks 4-1. Joshua Dykhoff (University of Minnesota-Crookston) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Dominic Smaldino (University of California) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 including a solo home run and scored twice. Ryan Beaird (Tarleton State University) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing one hit. JP Robertson (University of Mississippi) set the tone with a strong start throwing five innings with seven strikeouts allowing four hits and three walks.

Traverse City 12, Battle Creek 9

The Traverse City Pit Spitters rallied with a six-run third inning and sealed the deal with a four-run eighth to outslug the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 12-9 at home. Isaac Sturgess (Michigan State University) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, and a triple, tallying three RBIs and two runs. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-2 with a two-run triple and scored twice. Grady Mee (Western Michigan University) went 1-for-4 scoring three times with one RBI and two stolen bases. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) went 3-for-5 including a double scoring once and recording two RBIs. Caleb Estrada (Grand Valley State University) went 2-for-3 with a double tallying, one RBI, and one run. Grant Comstock (Wofford College) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing one walk and one hit.

Duluth 14, Rochester 7

The Duluth Huskies exploded for eleven runs across the final three innings to pull away from the Rochester Honkers, securing a 14-7 road victory. Elijah Fairchild (Cal State Northridge) went 3-for-4 with grand slam, tallying five RBIs and two runs. Zan Von Schlegell (University of St. Thomas (MN)) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and a two-run double. Nolan Barry (Illinois State University) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with a solo home run, recording two RBIs and three runs. Noah Furcht (Charlotte University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run and tallied two RBIs. Trey Craig (Blinn JC) went 3-for-6 scoring three times with a solo home run. Maddox Haley (Gonzaga University) went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and scored three times. Payton Knowles (Gonzaga University) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, scoring two runs and stealing one base. Logan Reid (University of Houston) earned the win throwing two innings with one strikeout allowing three runs and two hits.

La Crosse 2, Thunder Bay 1

The La Crosse Loggers used a two-run fourth inning and held firm the rest of the way, edging out the Thunder Bay Border Cats 2-1. Eli Small (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, driving in the only runs for the loggers. Lucas Johnson (Eastern Michigan University) went 1-for-4 with a double. Ashton Michek (Augustana University (MN)) earned the win throwing 6.1 innings with tens strikeouts allowing three hits, three walks, and one run. 

Badlands 13, Willmar 10

The Badlands Big Sticks rallied with a four-run eighth inning to storm back and defeat the Willmar Stingers 13-10. Zach Gingrich (Texas State University) went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a two-run home run, recording six RBIs and three runs. Connor Massimini (East Texas Baptist University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double, tallying one RBI and one stolen base. Ryan Muizelaar (University of Jamestown) went 3-for-5 with a double scoring twice and collecting one RBI. Chayton Fischer (Iowa Central CC) went 1-for-3 with a double, scoring twice, tallying one RBI and one stolen base. Kobe Eikmeier (Augustana University (MN)) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a two-run double. Jackson Cliatt (Wallace Community College) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with a two-run home run. Bryce Ronken (South Dakota State University) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with one RBI and one stolen base. Kasen McCawley (UNC-Pembroke) earned the win throwing three innings with four strikeouts allowing two walks, two runs, and one hit.
