Tuesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Green Bay Rockers outlasted the Traverse City Pit Spitters 8-6 in a 10-inning thriller. The Duluth Huskies walk it off in the ninth with three clutch runs to beat the Minot Hot Tots 5-4. The La Crosse Loggers outlasted the Bismarck Larks in an eleventh-inning marathon, walking it off 8-7 in dramatic fashion.

Thunder Bay 20, Eau Claire 5

The Thunder Bay Border Cats exploded in the first inning, scoring ten runs, beating the Eau Claire Express 20-5 at home. Jordan Bach (Southern Illinois University) went 3-for-5, including a two-run home run and an RBI double, and scored three times. Manny Alberto (Three Rivers CC (MO)) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a two-run double, tallying four RBIs and two runs. Hayden Stringfellow (Bossier Parish CC (LA)) went 1-for-5 with a grand slam and scored twice. Corey Morro (U of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3, including a double, two RBIs, and two runs. Jackson Irwin (Bellarmine University (KY)) earned the win, throwing three innings with three strikeouts, allowing three hits, two runs, and one walk.

Royal Oak 9, Battle Creek 5

The Royal Oak Leprechauns use a five-run third inning to set the tone and take down the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 9-5. Devan Zirwas (Eastern Michigan University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording two RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base. Chase Van Ameyde (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-4 with a double, collecting two RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base. Matt Ineich (Ohio University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Halen Otte (Whitman College) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Justin Brown (University of Michigan) earned the win, throwing five innings with six strikeouts, allowing four hits, one run, and one walk. Fischer Hendershot (Eastern Michigan University) got the save, throwing the last inning, giving up no hits or runs and striking out three of five batters faced.

Rockford 8, Madison 4

The Rockford Rivets jumped out early and never looked back, defeating the Madison Mallards 8-4 behind a 12-hit performance. Zeb Allen (University of Central Arkansas) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and two stolen bases. Ty Waid (McLennan CC) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, recording two RBIs and two runs. Carson Hansen (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Chandler Alderman (Middle Tennessee State University) earned the win, throwing six innings with four strikeouts, allowing four hits, three runs, and two walks. Danny Cercello (University of Houston) got the save, throwing three innings with one strikeout, allowing two hits and one run.

Green Bay 8, Traverse City 6

Tate Strickland (University of Tennessee) earned the win, throwing three innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and no earned runs. Kamar Dove (Prairie View A&M University) got the save, throwing the last inning, striking out two of three batters, giving up no hits, runs, or walks.

Badlands 10, Willmar 5

The Badlands Big Sticks erupted for four runs in the ninth to slam the door on the Willmar Stingers, winning 10-5 on the road. Coy Defury (Texas State University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a two-run single. Zach Gingrich (Texas State University) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and scored twice. Connor Massimini (East Texas Baptist University) went 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once, and tallying two RBIs. Nikau Heeney (Skyline (CA) CC) earned the win, throwing six innings with four strikeouts, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run.

St. Cloud 14, Mankato 2

The St. Cloud Rox use a seven-run sixth inning to pull away and take down the Mankato MoonDogs 14-2. Austin Haley (Kansas State) went 2-for-3, including an RBI double, recording four RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base. Jackson Cooke (University of Pittsburgh) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs and two runs. Augusto Mungarrieta (Northwest Florida State CC) went 2-for-5, scoring once with a double and three RBIs. Dominic Smaldino (University of California) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with three RBIs. Miken Miller (Johnson County CC) went 4-for-4, including an extra-base hit. Riane Ritter (University of St. Thomas) earned the win, throwing five innings with five strikeouts, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run.

Duluth 5, Minot 4

Matt Toomey (Long Beach State University) went 1-for-5 with a double, scoring once, and tallying one RBI. Parker Thomas (Wright State University) earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing five walks and two hits.

La Crosse 8, Bismarck 7

The La Crosse Loggers outlasted the Bismarck Larks in an eleventh-inning marathon, walking it off 8-7 in dramatic fashion. Savion Flowers (Cisco JC) went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run. Ethan Edinger (University of Louisville) went 3-for-6, scoring three times with one RBI and one stolen base. Kedren Kinzie (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Erick Dessens (Paradise Valley CC) went 2-for-5, including a double, scoring once, and driving in one run. Jack Otis (Central Michigan University) earned the win, throwing one inning, giving up two hits and zero earned runs.

Waterloo 13, Rochester 6

The Waterloo Bucks erupted early and never looked back, defeating the Rochester Honkers 13-6 behind a 16-hit offensive explosion. Bennett Fryman (Blinn JC) had a day at the plate going 2-for-5, knocking out two home runs, recording three RBIs, and two runs. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 3-for-6, scoring twice with one RBI and three stolen bases. Will Johnson (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 2-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Jackson LaLima (University of Houston) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Payton Knowles (Gonzaga University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Chris Peterson (University of St. Thomas) earned the win, throwing six innings with eight strikeouts, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run. 

Kalamazoo 5, Kenosha 1

The Kalamazoo Growlers silenced the Kenosha Kingfish after the first inning, taking them down 5-1. Avery Thielman (Western Michigan University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one run. Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe (Kent State University) went 2-for-5, including a double, recording one run and one stolen base. Noah Coy (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-5 with a triple and a double. Ivan Dahlberg (Northern Illinois) went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Brayden Bakes ( Illinois State University) went 3-for-3, recording a double and one stolen base. Jack Crittendon (Kalamazoo Valley CC) earned the win, throwing six innings with three strikeouts, allowing five hits, three walks, and one run.

Wisconsin Rapids 12, Lakeshore 9

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters erupted for 12 runs between the fourth and sixth innings to outlast the Lakeshore Chinooks 12-9 in a high-scoring showdown. Matthew Pinal (Hope International University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in three RBIs and scoring twice. Erik Parker (University of Georgia) went 2-for-4, scoring three times with two RBIs and one stolen base. Chris Diaz (Marist College) went 2-for-4 with a triple, tallying two RBIs, one run, and one stolen base. Hiroto Kobayashi (Lewis-Clark State College) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Jacob Kowes (The Master’s University) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run. Beckett Zavorek (Arizona State University) went 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once, driving in two runs, and stealing two bases. Noah Marschke (Madison CC) earned the win, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, allowing four hits, four runs, and two walks.

Wausau 7, Fond du Lac 5

The Wausau Woodchucks capitalized on key moments late, scoring in each of the final three innings to edge past the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 7-5. Ethan Guerra (University of Arizona) went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Josh McClintock (Dodge City CC) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and one stolen base. Patrick Graham (Penn State University) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Mason Morello (New York University) earned the win, throwing one inning with one strikeout, allowing two walks, one run, and zero hits. Garrett Landry (Stephen F. Austin University) got the save, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing one walk and one hit.
