Madison 14, Wausau 12

The Madison Night Mares outslugged the Wausau Ignite 14-12 in tonight’s slugfest. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) had a day at the plate going 4-for-5 with a two-run home run and a solo home run, recording four RBIs and two runs. Reganne Bennett (University of Michigan) was perfect, going 3-for-3, including a two-run home run and a bases-clearing double, tallying five RBIs and one run. Emma Kavanagh (University of Arizona) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double, scoring three times. Gretta Grassel (Mississippi State University) went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double, scoring three times. Quinn Marnocha (South Dakota State University) went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, tallying three RBIs and two runs. Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and scored twice. Molly Fitzgerald (University of Missouri-KC) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and scored twice. Taylor Baker (South Dakota State University) earned the win, throwing 1.1 innings with one strikeout, allowing five runs, three walks, and two hits.

La Crosse 7, Mankato 6

The La Crosse Steam used a four-run third inning to help take down the Mankato Habaneros 7-6. Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee at Martin) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Grace Frechette (St. Cloud State University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Ashlyn Porter (Campbell University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) went 2-for-3, including a double, one run, one RBI, and one stolen base. Paige Zender (Iowa State) went 1-for-2 with a double, scoring once and recording two RBIs. Emma Lee (Trine University) went 2-for-4 with a triple and a double, tallying one RBI and two runs. Elly Eckrich (University of Tennessee-Martin) earned the win, throwing the full game, collecting two strikeouts, and giving up eight hits, five earned runs, and four walks.
