Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Green Bay Rockers stormed back with a huge seventh inning and a walk-off in the ninth to defeat the Traverse City Pit Spitters 7-5. Wausau Woodchucks get their fourth win in a row.

Duluth 4, Rochester 1

The Duluth Huskies added insurance runs in the sixth and seventh to take down the Rochester Honkers 4-1. Michael Smith (Prairie View A&M University) went 2-for-4, scoring once, with a double, and driving in two runs. Zan Von Schlegell (University of St. Thomas (MN)) went 1-for-2, scoring once with one RBI. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) went 1-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base. Kerry Herndon-Brown (Miami Dade CC) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing one hit. Chas Melvin IV (Minnesota State University) got the save, throwing 2.1 scoreless no-hit innings with one strikeout, and giving up two walks.

Green Bay 7, Traverse City 5

The Green Bay Rockers stormed back with a huge seventh inning and a walk-off in the ninth to defeat the Traverse City Pit Spitters 7-5. Max Humphrey (Kent State University) was the king of clutch, knocking out his second home run of the night with a walk-off two-run bomb. Humphrey was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two home runs and recording five RBIs. Grady Mee (Western Michigan University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a double, scoring twice. Drew Aguiar (Cal State Monterey Bay) earned the win, throwing two innings with one strikeout, allowing two hits and one earned run.

Lakeshore 10, Madison 5

The Lakeshore Chinooks erupted for nine runs in the final two innings to stun the Madison Mallards 10-5. Jesse Aguirre (Mesa CC) went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and an RBI double, scoring twice. Nate Gray (Pima CC) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, scoring once and driving in two runs. Esteban Garcia (Boston College) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Jacob Kowes (The Master’s University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once, and driving in two runs. Beckett Zavorek (Arizona State University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with three stolen bases. Mikey Bell (Gonzaga University) went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in two runs. Jackson Bahn (Benedictine University) earned the win, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning with three strikeouts, giving up two walks. Bobby Perebzak (University of Hawaii) got the save, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts and giving up one hit.

Wausau 12, Kalamazoo 3

The Wausau Woodchucks dominated at the plate, racking up sixteen hits in a 12-3 win over the Kalamazoo Growlers. Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) had a perfect plate appearance, going 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, recording four RBIs, one run, and one stolen base. Cael Boever (Grand Canyon University) went 2-for-4, tallying a double, three RBIs, and one run. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 2-for-6 with a double, scoring once, and driving in two runs. Jayce Lee (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Landon Sexton (USC Upstate) earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings with eight strikeouts, allowing two hits.

Waterloo 12, La Crosse 7

The Waterloo Bucks remain in the top spot in the Great Plains East, surging past the La Crosse Loggers 12-7. Jake Bechtel (North Carolina State University) went 2-for-5, scoring three times with a solo home run, a double, and one stolen base. Ian Halverson (Saint Louis University) went 3-for-4, scoring twice with an RBI double, recording three RBIs. Jake Slade (Virginia Tech) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and scored twice. Zach Wadas (Central Arizona CC) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double, scoring once. Mateo Gray (University of Central Florida) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, recording three RBIs and one run. Carson Ohland (Grand Canyon University) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Alex Alberico (Kent State University) earned the win, throwing five innings with two strikeouts, allowing four hits, four walks, and three runs.

Royal Oak 3, Rockford 0

The Royal Oak Leprechauns shut down the Rockford Rivets in a 3-0 victory. Dylan Larkins (Georgetown University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. Jack Dauer (Yale University) went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Grant Bradley (University of Michigan) earned the win, throwing six scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing four hits and one walk. Fischer Hendershot (Eastern Michigan University) got the save, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing two hits.

Battle Creek 13, Kenosha 4

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks exploded late to take down the Kenosha Kingfish 13-4. Ryan Kroepel (Utah Tech University) went 2-for-3 with a bases-clearing triple, recording five RBIs and one run. Brian Daker (Gardner-Webb University) went 1-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Albert Jennings (Bushnell) went 2-for-4, scoring three times with a double and one RBI. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) went 2-for-5, scoring three times with one RBI. Peyton Ryback (Wallace-Dothan CC) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once, and recording one RBI. Badlands 10, Mankato 3

The Badlands Big Sticks rolled past the Mankato MoonDogs 10-3. Gavyn Schlotterback (Kansas) went 2-for-3, scoring once with two RBIs. Shane Miller (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 1-for-2 with a double, scoring twice, and driving in one run. Ryan Muizelaar (University of Jamestown) went 1-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs. Justan Autry (Alvin CC) earned the win, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, allowing three walks, one hit, and one run.

Thunder Bay 5, Eau Claire 2

The Thunder Bay Border Cats used a big fifth inning to take down the Eau Claire Express 5-2. Jordan Bach (Southern Illinois University) was an RBI machine, going 2-for-4 with a grand slam, recording five RBIs. Nick Mascaro (Cal State Bakersfield) went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Carter Wall (University of Utah) earned the win, throwing three scoreless no-hit innings with four strikeouts, allowing two walks. Jackson Hohensee (Arizona Christian University) got the save, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning, striking out one of three batters faced.

Fond du Lac 9, Wisconsin Rapids 8

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders edged out the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 9-8 in a close, high-scoring game. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two stolen bases. Jalen Gellings (Madison CC) went 4-for-5, scoring twice with one stolen base. Landon Fitz (Xavier University) went 4-for-5, scoring once with one RBI. Will Eldridge (Indiana University) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing one hit and one walk.

St. Cloud 7, Minot 6

The St. Cloud Rox walked it off in the ninth to defeat the Minot Hot Tots 7-6. Tanner Recchio (University of St. Thomas) went 3-for-4, scoring once with a double, two RBIs, and one stolen base. Austin Haley (Kansas State) went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Dominic Smaldino (University of California) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
