Tuesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 18 games. St. Cloud sweeps doubleheader over Willmar. Madison scored 17 runs with 15 hits and drew 18 walks in their 17-8 victory over Rockford. Wausau shut out Royal Oak.

Duluth 5, Minot 2

The Duluth Huskies held off the Minot Hot Tots for a 5-2 victory. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with a solo home run, a two-run triple, and one stolen base. Michael Smith (Prairie View A&M University) collected two stolen bases and two runs scored. Max Ortega (Cal State Fullerton) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Henry Allen (University of Georgia) went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Anthony Andrews (University of Hawaii) earned the win, throwing six innings with seven strikeouts, allowing five hits, three walks, and one run.

Eau Claire 5, Bismarck 4

The Eau Claire Express edged out the Bismarck Larks 5-4 in a tightly contested game. Matthew Cormier (Cal State Northridge) went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs. Quinton Coats (University of Cincinnati) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Nick Mascaro (Cal State Bakersfield) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two stolen bases. Jamie Mullin (Sacramento State University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Carter Aarts (Niagara University) went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Cristian Bernardini (St. John’s University) went 3-for-4, scoring twice and recording a double. Easton Bobb (University of St. Thomas) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing five hits, two runs, and one walk.

Thunder Bay 14, La Crosse 7

The Thunder Bay Border Cats erupted for a 14-7 win over the La Crosse Loggers in a high-scoring showdown. Jacob Miller (Jefferson CC (MO)) went 2-for-4, including a double, scoring three times, driving in three runs, and stealing one base. Manny Alberto (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 3-for-5, scoring twice with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Lucas Johnson (Eastern Michigan University) went 2-for-4, scoring three times with three stolen bases. Kael Babin went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Eli Small (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs and one stolen base. Jackson Irwin (Bellarmine University (KY)) earned the win, throwing 3.1 innings with two strikeouts, allowing five walks, one hit, and zero earned runs.

Badlands 9, Mankato 1

The Badlands Big Sticks cruised to a 9-1 victory over the Mankato MoonDogs with a dominant all-around performance. Chayton Fischer (UT-RGV) had a day at the plate going 2-for-4 with a grand slam and a two-run home run, recording six RBIs and three runs scored. Troy Berg (Augustana University (MN)) had a perfect plate performance, going 4-for-4, including a solo home run, a double, and scoring three times. Kasen McCawley (UNC-Pembroke) earned the win, throwing six innings with four strikeouts, allowing three walks, one run, and one hit.

St. Cloud 2, Willmar 0

The St. Cloud Rox shut out the Willmar Stingers 2-0. Austin Haley went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one stolen base. Dominic Smaldino (University of California) went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Alex Dupuy (University of Alabama-Birmingham) went 1-for-2 with a double and one run scored. Ryan Beaird (Tarleton State University) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing two hits and one walk. Brandon Jaenke (Viterbo University) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning, striking out one of four batters faced, and giving up one hit.

Traverse City 13, Wisconsin Rapids 9

The Traverse City Pit Spitters outlasted the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 13-9 in a 12-inning thriller. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 3-for-6, recording two RBIs, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Brandon Sanchez (University of Northern Colorado) went 2-for-4, scoring twice, drawing three walks, with one RBI and two stolen bases. Adam Broski (Michigan State University) went 2-for-5, scoring once with three RBIs. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona CC) went 1-for-5, scoring twice with two RBIs, and drawing two walks. Mason Onate (Pensacola State College) went 4-for-6 with a double, recording three RBIs, one run scored, and two stolen bases. The Madison Mallards erupted for seven runs in the ninth to storm past the Rockford Rivets 17-8 in a wild finish. Brock Lulewicz (Wichita State University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with three RBIs. Davis Hamilton (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and three stolen bases. Dominic Jacoby (Harper College) went 3-for-5, scoring three times with two RBIs. Jackson Forbes (University of Arizona) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, tallying three RBIs. Sam Flores (Kansas State) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Tate Shimao (University of Hawaii) went 3-for-4, tallying a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Charlie West (University of Connecticut) earned the win throwing five innings with seven strikeouts, allowing four hits, four runs, and one walk. Joe Husak (University of Iowa) got the save, throwing two scoreless no-hit innings, striking out two of six batters faced.

La Crosse 9, Thunder Bay 7

The La Crosse Loggers jumped out early and held off the Thunder Bay Border Cats for a 9-7 win in a back-and-forth battle. Ethan Edinger (University of Louisville) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI and drawing two walks. Xander McLaurin (Cal Poly University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs. Battle Creek 8, Kalamazoo 6

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks rallied late to stun the Kalamazoo Growlers 8-6. Sam Griffith (Oakland University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and scored twice. Ryan Skjonsby (Washington State University) went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Trent Rice (Oakland University) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI. Noah Coy (University of Notre Dame) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Connor Foley (Northwood Univeristy) earned the win, throwing 1.2 scoreless no-hit innings with one strikeout, allowing two walks.

Wausau 7, Royal Oak 0

The Wausau Woodchucks shut out the Royal Oak Leprechauns 7-0 behind a dominant all-around performance. Cade Baldridge (University of Kansas) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, scoring twice, and stealing one base. Aiden Harris (University of Virginia) went 1-for-3 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one run. Zach Knowlton (Central Michigan University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Keagen Jirschele (South Dakota State University) collected three stolen bases and one run scored. Carter White (Lincoln Memorial University) earned the win, throwing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, allowing two hits and two walks. 

Fond du Lac 6, Kenosha 5

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders edged out the Kenosha Kingfish 6-5 in a tightly contested game. Miles Vandenheuvek (Eastern Arizona College) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and one stolen base. Patrick Graham (Penn State University) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a solo home run. Will Matuszak (Santa Barbara City CC) went 1-for-3 with a double, recording one RBI, one run scored, and two stolen bases. Ivan Dahlberg (Northern Illinois) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. James McCoy (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-3, scoring once with two RBIs. Jacob Arndt ( University of Missouri-St Louis) earned the win, throwing one scoreless inning, striking out two of four batters faced, and giving up one hit. Luke Parise (Saint Joseph’s University) got the save, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning, striking out one of three batters faced.

Bismarck 6, Eau Claire 5

The Bismarck Larks walked it off in the 1oth inning to defeat the Eau Claire Express 6-5 in extra innings. Ricardo Aponte (Indiana University (PA)) was the king of clutch, going 2-for-5, scoring once, and driving in the winning run. Erick Dessens (Paradise Valley CC) went 3-for-5, scoring twice with a double and driving in two runs. Jayder Raifstanger (St. John’s University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. George Bilecki (Arizona State) went 1-for-4 with a triple and one RBI. Vidal Colon (University of Illinois-Chicago) went 1-for-2 with a double, scoring once, and driving in one run. Kai Taylor (Augustana University (SD)) earned the win, throwing four innings with four strikeouts, allowing two walks and one hit.

Minot 8, Duluth 6

The Minot Hot Tots rallied late to defeat the Duluth Huskies 8-6 in a back-and-forth battle. Charlie Kalbrener (Iowa Western CC) had a day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and a two-run home run. Christian Stratis (The Citadel) went 1-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Max Ortega (Cal State Fullerton) went 3-for-5, scoring once and recording a double. Trey Craig (Blinn JC) went 2-for-4, scoring once with a double and one RBI. Braden Booth (Mississippi State University) earned the win, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning with one strikeout. Nolan Girard (University of Illinois) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning, giving up two walks and one hit.

Wisconsin Rapids 12, Traverse City 8

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat the Traverse City Pit Spitters 12-8. Mason Onate (Pensacola State College) was an RBI machine, going 3-for-5 with a three-run home run, tallying four RBIs and two runs scored. Gunnar Myro (University of Nevada, Las Vegas) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs. Madden Ocko (Fordham University) went 1-for-4 with three RBIs. Hiroto Kobayashi (Lewis-Clark State College) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Adam Broski (Michigan State University) went 2-for-5 with four RBIs. Grady Mee (Western Michigan University) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI and three stolen bases. Espn Simpson (Butler University) earned the win, throwing 1.2 innings, striking out three of six batters faced, giving up one hit, one run, and one walk.

Green Bay 20, Lakeshore 7

The Green Bay Rockers exploded offensively in a 20-7 rout of the Lakeshore Chinooks. Parker Martin (University of Southern Indiana) had a day at the plate going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, recording four RBIs and three runs scored. Aidan Kuni (University of Hawaii) had a perfect plate outing, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Collin Helms (Harding University) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a double. Brayden Buchanan (Baylor University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice, driving in three RBIs, and stealing one base. Caleb Daniel (Georgia Tech) went 2-for-6, scoring twice with three RBIs. Brody Rasmussen (University of Maine) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and one stolen base. Nate Gray (Pima CC) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Beckett Zavorek (Arizona State University) went 2-for-3, scoring three times, drawing two walks, and stealing two bases. Badlands 16, Mankato 3

The Badlands Big Sticks dominated from start to finish in a 16-3 win over the Mankato MoonDogs. The Waterloo Bucks held off the Rochester Honkers 6-2. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once, with one RBI and three stolen bases. Ethan Rossi (Eastern Illinois University) went 1-for-4 with a double, tallying two RBIs and one run scored. Maddox Haley (Gonzaga University) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Chris Peterson (University of St. Thomas) earned the win, throwing seven scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing four hits and two walks.

St. Cloud 5, Willmar 1

The St. Cloud Rox took control in the middle innings and defeated the Willmar Stingers 5-1, securing the doubleheader sweep.
