Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 11 games. The St. Cloud Rox erupted for 11 runs over the final three innings to complete a stunning comeback and get their fourth win in a row, defeating the Minot Hot Tots 16-6. The Thunder Bay Border Cats erupted for nine runs in the seventh inning to storm past the Rochester Honkers 15-7 and secure their fourth win in a row.

Madison 1, Green Bay 0

The Madison Mallards edged out the Green Bay Rockers 1-0 in a classic pitchers’ duel. Nate Voss (Penn State University) went 2-for-3 and tallied a double. Liam Moreno (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-4, driving in the only run for the Mallards. Isaac Milburn (Purdue University) dominated on the mound, throwing a no-hitter and tallying ten strikeouts. 

Kenosha 16, Kalamazoo 5

The Kenosha Kingfish erupted early with 14 runs in the first three innings to cruise past the Kalamazoo Growlers 16-5. Hogan Denny (Indiana University) had a day at the plate going 4-for-5, including a pair of doubles, tallying two RBIs, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 1-for-2, scoring twice with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Jadan Boyce (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 1-for-5, scoring twice with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Trent Abel (Cal State Northridge) went 2-for-5, scoring once with three RBIs. Micah Rienstra-Kiracofe (Kent State University) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Connor Shouse (Georgia Tech) went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and scored twice. Ben McDougal (West Virginia University) earned the win, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, allowing seven hits and one run.

Battle Creek 10, Rockford 9

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks walked it off in a wild 10-9 win over the Rockford Rivets. Albert Jennings (Bushnell) was the king of clutch driving in the winning run and went 2-for-5, scoring once and recording three RBIs. Keaton Fisher (University of Northern Colorado) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and scored twice. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) went 1-for-5 with two RBIs and one stolen base. Tate Shimao (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, tallying one RBI and a run scored. Jayce Blalock (Arkansas-Little Rock) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs. Elijah Norris (Carson-Newman University) earned the win, throwing 1.2 innings with two strikeouts, allowing two walks, one hit, and one run.

Lakeshore 14, Wisconsin Rapids 4

The Lakeshore Chinooks dominated at the plate, racking up 20 hits in a 14-4 rout of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. David Hogg (Louisiana State University) went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, recording four RBIs and one run scored. Beckett Zavorek (Arizona State University) had a day at the plate going 4-for-6, tallying a double, four RBIs, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. Brody Rasmussen (University of Maine) went 2-for-6 with a two-run home run and a double, collecting three RBIs and two runs scored. Esteban Garcia (Boston College) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring three runs and driving in one run. Chris Diaz (Marist College) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Nate Ciemny (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) earned the win, throwing 5.2 innings with three strikeouts, allowing six hits, four walks, and three runs. Dylan Escobar (Riverside City CC) got the save, throwing 3.1 innings with two strikeouts, allowing one hit, one run, and one walk.

Wausau 9, Fond du Lac 8

The Wausau Woodchucks outslug the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-8. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 2-for-5 with a two-run triple, recording three RBIs and one run scored. Brayden Mazzacano (University of Illinois) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. Jake Weatherspoon (Indian River State CC) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. TP Wentworth (Clemson University) went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, recording four RBIs and three runs scored. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 1-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs and one stolen base. Reece Clapp (Bradley University) got the save, throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit.

Mankato 9, Waterloo 8

The Mankato MoonDogs rallied from an early deficit to edge the Waterloo Bucks 9-8. Evan Saunders (Iowa Western CC) went 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles, tallying three RBIs and one run scored. Willis Maginnis (Georgia State University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, collecting one RBI. Adrian Beltre Jr. (University of San Diego) went 1-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in two runs. Marcus Heusohn (McNeese State University) went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double, recording three RBIs and two runs scored. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and one stolen base. Augden Hallmark (Midland (TX) CC) earned the win, throwing 5.1 innings with four strikeouts, allowing five hits, two runs, and two walks. Will Page-Allen (Feather River CC) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning, striking out one of four batters faced, and giving up one hit.

Thunder Bay 15, Rochester 7

The Thunder Bay Border Cats erupted for nine runs in the seventh inning to storm past the Rochester Honkers 15-7. Greg LaChance (University of Illinois) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored. Kael Babin (University of Nebraska Omaha) went 1-for-3, scoring three times and driving in two runs. Jeremy Sheffield (Georgetown University (MD)) went 2-for-5, scoring twice with two RBIs and one stolen base. Manny Alberto (Georgia Gwinnett College) went 1-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Parker Burgess (Florida SouthWestern State College) earned the win, throwing 3.2 innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits, two runs, and one walk.

La Crosse 26, Willmar 1

The La Crosse Loggers delivered an offensive outburst, crushing the Willmar Stingers 26-1. Savion Flowers (Cisco JC) was an RBI machine, going 3-for-6 with a pair of home runs, recording eight RBIs, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Ryan Costello (Maryland) went 3-for-4 with a double, tallying three RBIs and three runs scored. Carson Ohland (Grand Canyon University) went 3-for-5 with a double, collecting four runs and one RBI. Brayden Jefferis (University of Michigan) went 3-for-7, scoring three times and driving in one run. Caden Richardson (Weatherford College) dominated on the mound, throwing six no-hit innings with ten strikeouts, allowing three walks and zero earned runs.

St. Cloud 16, Minot 6

The St. Cloud Rox erupted for 11 runs over the final three innings to complete a stunning comeback and defeat the Minot Hot Tots 16-6. Jaixen Frost (University of Iowa) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Nolan Geislinger (Iowa Western CC) went 2-for-3, scoring once with two RBIs. Cayden Gaskin (University of South Carolina) went 3-for-5 with a double, scoring four times, driving in one run, and stealing two bases. Tyson Lablanc (Louisiana State – Eunice) went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, recording one RBI and three runs scored. Matt Toomey (Long Beach State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring twice, driving in one run, and stealing three bases. Aiden Lieser (University of Nebraska) earned the win, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing one hit and one walk.

Badlands 10, Bismarck 8

The Badlands Big Sticks held off a late rally from the Bismarck Larks to secure a 10-8 victory. Chayton Fischer (UT-RGV) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a two-run home run, tallying five RBIs and one run scored. Gavyn Schlotterback (Kansas) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Coy Defury (Texas State University) went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one run. Sydney Ward (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, racking up five RBIs and scoring twice. Erick Dessens (Paradise Valley CC) went 2-for-5 with a triple, one RBI, and two runs scored. Cristian Bernardini (St. John’s University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Dylan Kerbow (Texas State University) earned the win, throwing three innings with three strikeouts, allowing two hits and two runs. Logan Spivey (University of Georgia) got the save, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing three runs, one walk, and one hit.

Royal Oak 17, Traverse City 3

The Royal Oak Leprechauns exploded for 17 runs, including a massive nine-run eighth inning, to take down the Traverse City Pit Spitters 17-3. Tristan Crane (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 3-for-5 with a double, scoring three runs and driving in a run. Jack Dauer (Yale University) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with two RBIs. Dylan Larkins (Georgetown University) went 1-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs. Luke Coll (Appalachian State University) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout and giving up one hit.
