Monday’s Northwoods League slate featured 9 games. The Rockford Rivets outlasted the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in a thrilling 10-inning battle, walking it off for a 13-12 victory.

Wausau 8, Lakeshore 3

The Wausau Woodchucks jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Lakeshore Chinooks 8-3. Max Soliz (University of Kansas) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Dom Rodriguez (University of Arizona) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, tallying three RBIs. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 1-for-4 with a two-run double. Kyle Micklus (West Texas A&M University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and drove in two runs. Carter White (Lincoln Memorial University) earned the win, throwing 6.1 innings with six strikeouts, allowing three walks, one run, and one hit.

Rockford 13, Wisconsin Rapids 12

The Rockford Rivets outlasted the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in a thrilling 10-inning battle, walking it off for a 13-12 victory. AJ Malzone (Wabash Valley CC) had a day at the plate going 4-for-6 with an RBI double and a solo home run, tallying three RBIs and two runs scored. Harrison Bowman (Troy University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, recording two RBIs, one run scored, and one stolen base. Cade Climie (Houston) went 2-for-6 with a double, two RBIs, one scored run, and one stolen base. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 2-for-5, scoring four times with three RBIs. Madden Ocko (Fordham University) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, collecting three RBIs and two runs scored. Andre Modugno (University of Alabama) went 2-for-6 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs and two runs scored. Hawk Bowers (McLennan CC) earned the win, throwing 2.1 scoreless innings, striking out three of eight batters faced.

Kalamazoo 6, Royal Oak 5

The Kalamazoo Growlers held off the Royal Oak Leprechauns in a back-and-forth battle in a 6-5 victory. Brodey Acres (Walsh University) went 2-for-3 with a double, driving in two runs, scoring twice, and stealing one base. Antonio Perrotta (University of Virginia) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Tristan Crane (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Tyler Papenbrock (Huntington University) earned the win, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing three hits, one run, and one walk. Donny Tober (Warner Pacific University) got the save, throwing one perfect inning, striking out two of three batters faced.

Battle Creek 11, Traverse City 4

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks exploded early with a five-run inning, taking down the Traverse City Pit Spitters 11-4. Brian Heckelman (Towson University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with three RBIs. Caleb Estrada (Grand Valley State University) went 2-for-3, including a double, driving in two runs, and scoring twice. Ty Tomlinson (George Mason University) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs. Dutch Deprospero (Towson University) earned the win, throwing six innings with four strikeouts, allowing six hits, three runs, and three walks.

La Crosse 6, Eau Claire 0

The La Crosse Loggers broke through late with runs in four straight innings to shut out the Eau Claire Express 6-0. Max Kalk (Ball State University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. Mikey Ryan III (Louisiana State University) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with three stolen bases. RJ Hamilton (Vanderbilt University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one stolen base. Mateo Gray (University of Central Florida) earned the win, throwing nine scoreless innings, collecting seven strikeouts, and allowing three hits and two walks. 

Minot 12, Mankato 5

The Minot Hot Tots poured on the offense with runs in six different innings to defeat the Mankato MoonDogs 12-5. Henry Allen (University of Georgia) had a day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a two-run double, and scoring three times. Matt Toomey (Long Beach State University) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and two stolen bases. Will Smoot (East Tennessee State University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs. Nolan Girard (University of Illinois) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing three walks and one hit.

Badlands 3, St. Cloud 2

The Badlands Big Sticks edged out the St. Cloud Rox 3-2 with a late push, scoring the game-winning run in the top of the ninth. Connor Massimini (East Texas Baptist University) came in clutch, going 1-for-3 with a go-ahead solo home run and one stolen base. Tanner Recchio (University of St. Thomas) went 1-for-2, scoring once with two stolen bases. Gavyn Schlotterback (Kansas) earned the win, throwing three innings with three strikeouts, allowing two hits and one run.

Bismarck 14, Willmar 4

The Bismarck Larks exploded for 14 runs across the sixth and seventh innings to blow past the Willmar Stingers 14-4. Kyle Hvidsten (Western Kentucky) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, recording four RBIs and three runs scored. Erick Dessens (Paradise Valley CC) had a day at the plate going 4-for-5, including a double, tallying two RBIs and two runs scored. Sydney Ward (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs, and one run scored. Ricardo Aponte (Indiana University (PA)) went 2-for-5, scoring twice with two RBIs and one stolen base. Joey Craig (New Mexico State University) went 1-for-3 with a grand slam. Ryan Radkey (University of Jamestown) earned the win, throwing six scoreless innings with two strikeouts, allowing three walks and one hit.

Duluth 12, Rochester 2

The Duluth Huskies dominated from start to finish, piling up 16 hits in a 12-2 rout over the Rochester Honkers. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a three-run home run and an RBI double, tallying four RBIs and two runs scored. Michael Smith (Prairie View A&M University) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring three runs, driving in two runs, and stealing one base. Kingsley Guthrie (Murray State University) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI double. Danny Hesse (Mesa CC) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits, three walks, and zero earned runs.
