Wednesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 11 games. The Traverse City Pit Spitters walked it off in the bottom of the ninth to edge out the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-8. The Battle Creek Battle Jacks exploded for 13 runs on 12 hits to defeat the Kalamazoo Growlers 13-6, collecting their fifth win in a row. Green Bay Rockers shut out the Lakeshore Chinooks to get their fourth win in a row.

Battle Creek 7, Kalamazoo 2

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks jumped out early and never looked back, defeating the Kalamazoo Growlers 7-2. Ryan Kroepel (Utah Tech University) went 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once, and driving in one run. Caleb Estrada (Grand Valley State University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Sam Kane (Seattle University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI. Justin Morgan (Central Michigan University) earned the win, throwing two innings with one strikeout, allowing three walks, three hits, and two runs. Jacob Whiteman (Towson University) got the save, throwing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and giving up only two hits.

Kenosha 6, Rockford 2

The Kenosha Kingfish broke a 2-2 deadlock with a four-run rally in the 10th inning to down the Rockford Rivets 6-2. Ryan Bakes (Illinois State) came in clutch, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Kyle Schupmann (University of Illinois) went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, one RBI, and one stolen base. Jacob Vokal (Davidson College) went 2-for-5 with a double, tallying one RBI and one stolen base. Dominic Guzman (St. Ambrose) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and one walk.

Madison 10, Wausau 4

The Madison Mallards powered past the Wausau Woodchucks 10-4 behind a 16-hit offensive showcase. Mikey Bell (Gonzaga University) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, recording four RBIs, and three runs scored. Davis Hamilton (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Jordy Lopez (University of California, Berkeley) went 2-for-2, scoring once with one RBI. Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Tyler Guerin (University of Iowa) earned the win, throwing five innings with four strikeouts, allowing seven hits, two runs, and two walks. Blake Barker (University of Virginia) got the save, throwing three scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing one hit and one walk.

Royal Oak 5, Wisconsin Rapids 4

The Royal Oak Leprechauns stormed back with a three-run eighth inning to edge out the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 5-4. Aidan Schuck (Oakland University) went 1-for-2, scoring once with two stolen bases. Ty Allen (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-3 with a double, tallying one RBI and one run scored. Erik Parker (University of Georgia) went 1-for-2 with a triple, two runs scored, one RBI, and one stolen base. Pat Costin (Indiana University) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Luke Coll (Appalachian State University) earned the win, throwing one perfect inning with one strikeout. Jake Shelagowski (Saginaw Valley State University) got the save, throwing one perfect inning, striking out two of three batters faced.

Battle Creek 13, Kalamazoo 6

Jack Messmore (University of New Mexico) earned the win, throwing five innings with five strikeouts, allowing seven hits, three runs, and one walk.

Green Bay 8, Lakeshore 0

The Green Bay Rockers dominated from the start, shutting out the Lakeshore Chinooks 8-0. Max Humphrey (Kent State University) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, tallying two RBIs, three runs scored, and one stolen base. Parker Martin (University of Southern Indiana) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Collin Helms (Harding University) went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Alex LePage (Immaculata University) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing two walks and one hit. Ethan Plog (LSU) got the save, throwing four perfect innings with three strikeouts.

Mankato 5, Minot 3

The Mankato MoonDogs held off the Minot Hot Tots 5-3. Joey Williamson (University of Alabama) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one RBI. Adrian Beltre Jr. (University of San Diego) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one stolen base. Henry Allen (University of Georgia) went 3-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs. Ryan Castro (UC Irvine) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Sam Stockman (University of Utah) earned the win, throwing seven innings with six strikeouts, allowing four hits, two runs, and one walk. Ben Pernetti (Cosumnes River CC) got the save, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing one hit and one run.

St. Cloud 6, Thunder Bay 1

The St. Cloud Rox cruised past the Thunder Bay Border Cats 6-1. Brady Ballinger (University of Kansas) went 1-for-2, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Alex Dupuy (University of Alabama-Birmingham) went 2-for-3 and scored once. Tanner Recchio (University Of St. Thomas) scored twice and collected one RBI and one stolen base. Lucas Johnson (Eastern Michigan University) went 1-for-4 with a triple. Jake Burcham (Tarleton State University) earned the win throwing five scoreless no-hit innings with three strikeouts and allowing three walks.

Badlands 5, Bismarck 0

The Badlands Big Sticks blanked the Bismarck Larks 5-0 behind a dominant pitching performance. Khalil Walker (Univeristy of New Mexico) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 scoring once with two RBIs Quade Peters (Eastern Illinois University) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Ryker Schow (Brigham Young University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Ismael Quintero (Cal State LA) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts allowing two hits and one walk. 

Duluth 8, Rochester 3

The Duluth Huskies rallied from an early deficit with a five-run third inning to defeat the Rochester Honkers 8-3. Nate Novitske (Arizona) was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 scoring once with two RBIs. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) went 2-for-3 with a double, recording two RBIs and one run scored. Paul Gutierrez Contreras (Cal State Fullerton) went 2-for-4 with a double, tallying one RBI and one run scored. Michael Smith (Prairie View A&M University) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Kai Caranto (California Lutheran University) went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Anthony Andrews (University of Hawaii) earned the win throwing four innings with seven strikeouts allowing five hits, three walks, and two earned runs.

Traverse City 9, Fond du Lac 8

The Traverse City Pit Spitters walked it off in the bottom of the ninth to edge out the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-8. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) had a day at the plate going 5-for-6 including knocking in the winning run, tallying three RBIs and two runs scored. Grady Mee (Western Michigan University) went 2-for-4 with a two-run double, scoring once, and stealing one base. Alfredo Velazquez (Wayne State University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI. Jarren Sanderson (Cal State Northridge) went 3-for-5 with a grand slam, recording five RBIs and two runs scored. Rex Watson (University of San Diego) went 3-for-5 scoring twice, tallying a triple and two RBIs. Elliot Traver (University of Northwestern Ohio) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing two hits, two runs, and one walk.
