Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 4 games.

Madison 9, Wausau 2

The Madison Night Mares rallied consistently throughout the game, defeating the Wausau Ignite 9-2. Ella Stephenson (University of Michigan) went 1-for-2 with three RBIs and one stolen base. Danielle Lucey (University of Wisconsin) went 1-for-2 with an RBI double, scored three times, and stole one base. Tayler Baker (South Dakota State University) went 1-for-2 with an RBI double. Riley Schwisow (Northwestern State University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Karlie McKenzie (Eastern Illinois University) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing two hits, one run, and one walk.

Mankato 5, La Crosse 4

The Mankato Habaneros came back and took down the La Crosse Steam 5-4. Emma Lee (Trine University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and scored twice. Finley Anderson (Minnesota State University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Skylinn Pogue (University of Iowa) went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Sam Vandevelde (Bryant and Stratton (WI) CC) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Calli Janik (Mount Mercy University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Grace Frechette (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Sailor Hall (Pittsburgh State University) earned the win, throwing the full game with four strikeouts, allowing six hits and four runs.

Madison 8, Wausau 7

The Madison Night Mares walked it off, taking down the Wausau Ignite 8-7, securing the doubleheader sweep. Ava Carroll (University of Washington) drove in the game-winning knock, going 3-for-4, scoring three times with one RBI and one stolen base. Ella Stephenson (University of Michigan) was an RBI machine, going 3-for-4 with a two-run double, tallying four RBIs and one run scored. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, recording two RBIs and two runs scored.  Molly Fitzgerald (University of Missouri-KC) went 2-for-3 with a grand slam. Kendall Weik (Morgan State) earned the win, throwing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing two hits and one walk.

Mankato 3, La Crosse 0

The Mankato Habaneros sweep the La Crosse Steam, winning game two 3-0. Alexis Michon (Trine University) went 2-for-2 with one RBI. Finley Anderson (Minnesota State University) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one stolen base. Alexis Michon (Trine University) earned the win, throwing a full-game shutout, collecting three strikeouts, and allowing seven hits.
