Wednesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Eau Claire Express completed a thrilling comeback, scoring four runs in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the Rochester Honkers 8-7.

Rockford 6, Kenosha 5

The Rockford Rivets held off the Kenosha Kingfish in a back-and-forth battle to secure the 6-5 victory. Harrison Bowman (Troy University) went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles, scoring once, and driving in one run. Tate Shimao (University of Hawaii) went 1-for-2, scoring once with two RBIs. Jack Scheri (Wabash Valley CC) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once, and driving in one run. Hogan Denny (Indiana University) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs, one run scored, and one stolen base. James McCoy (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-1 with a solo home run. Ty Waid (McLennan CC) earned the win, throwing three innings with four strikeouts, allowing three hits, one run, and one walk.

Kenosha 13, Rockford 4

The Kenosha Kingfish erupted for 13 runs on 13 hits, pulling away late to defeat the Rockford Rivets 13-4. Jack Zebig (University of Illinois) went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Hogan Denny (Indiana University) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and two stolen bases. Noah Alvarez (Cal State Bakersfield) went 2-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Joseph Martin (SIU-Edwardsville) earned the win, throwing five strikeouts, allowing three walks, one run, and one hit.

Traverse City 3, Royal Oak 2

The Traverse City Pit Spitters struck early with a three-run first inning and held on the rest of the way to edge out the Royal Oak Leprechauns 3-2. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona CC) went 2-for-3, scoring once with one RBI. Cade Collins (Wofford College) went 1-for-4 with a two-run double. Preston Leon (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and one stolen base. Sam Schmitt (Salem University) earned the win, throwing six innings with six strikeouts, allowing three hits, two walks, and one run. Drew Ferguson (Kellogg CC) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning with two strikeouts, allowing two hits and one walk.

Waterloo 8, Thunder Bay 6

The Waterloo Bucks outlasted the Thunder Bay Border Cats 8-6. Jack Bechtel (North Carolina State University) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, tallying four RBIs and two runs scored. Jake Slade (Virginia Tech) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run. Marcus Heusohn (McNeese State University) went 3-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI. Manny Alberto (Western Kentucky University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording one RBI, one run scored, and two stolen bases. Brady Baur (University of Sioux Falls) earned the win, throwing three dominant scoreless innings, striking out seven of eleven batters faced, allowing one hit and one walk. Tyler Glowacki (Upper Iowa University) got the save, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning with one strikeout, allowing one walk.

Battle Creek 8, Madison 1

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks took control early and never looked back in an 8-1 win over the Madison Mallards. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) went 3-for-5, scoring once with four RBIs. Hunter Smolinski (Grand Canyon University) went 1-for-2 with a two-run double and scored twice. Caleb Estrada (Grand Valley State University) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and driving in one run. Duluth 7, La Crosse 4

The Duluth Huskies struck early and held off a late surge to defeat the La Crosse Loggers 7-4. Nate Vargas (UC Santa Barbara) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Tyler Palmer (University of Nebraska Omaha) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Kedren Kinzie (University of Hawaii) went 1-for-2, scoring once with one RBI. Wisconsin Rapids 9, Fond du Lac 5

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters used a steady surge of late-inning offense to defeat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 9-5. The Willmar Stingers erupted offensively, scoring in five different innings to outlast the Bismarck Larks 14-10. The Mankato MoonDogs dominated at the plate, racking up 13 runs on 11 hits to take down the Badlands Big Sticks 13-3. Corey Nunez (UC Santa Barbara) went 1-for-5 with three RBIs. Brandon Vlcko (Minnesota State University) went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, tallying two RBIs and two runs scored. Wausau 9, Kalamazoo 4

The Wausau Woodchucks used a pair of big innings to power past the Kalamazoo Growlers 9-4. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 2-for-5, scoring once with three RBIs. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI. Gabe Springer (Stanford University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs and one run scored. Zach Wyatt (University of Montevallo) earned the win, throwing six innings with six strikeouts, allowing nine hits and two runs.

Lakeshore 2, Green Bay 1

The Lakeshore Chinooks held off a late push from the Green Bay Rockers to secure a 2-1 victory. Esteban Garcia (Boston College) went 1-for-2, scoring once with three stolen bases. Jesse Aguirre (Mesa CC) went 1-for-3, scoring once with one stolen base. The St. Cloud Rox jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Minot Hot Tots 10-4.
