Friday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Wausau Woodchucks walked it off, defeating the Madison Mallards 8-7 in a thrilling contest.

Green Bay 10, Fond du Lac 1

The Green Bay Rockers rolled past the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders with a dominant 10-1 win. Caleb Daniel (Georgia Tech) went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs, driving in two runs and scoring three times. Eric Jeon (Stanford University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and one stolen base. Collin Helms (Harding University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording two RBIs, two runs scored, and one stolen base. Maddox Long (Harding University) earned the win, throwing 6.2 innings with five strikeouts, allowing three hits, two walks, and one run. Ethan Plog (LSU) dominated to close out the game, throwing 2.1 perfect innings, striking out five of seven batters faced. 

La Crosse 6, Thunder Bay 1

The La Crosse Loggers steadily pulled away to defeat the Thunder Bay Border Cats 6-1. Eli Small (Florida Atlantic) went 2-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs. John Pearson (Louisiana State University) went 1-for-4 with a double, recording one RBI and one run scored. Ethan Edinger (University of Louisville) went 1-for-3 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Calvin Warrillow (Dodge City CC (KS)) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Aaron England (University of Louisville) earned the win, throwing five innings with six strikeouts, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run.

Lakeshore 14, Wisconsin Rapids 3

The Lakeshore Chinooks exploded out of the gate with a six-run first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 14-3 win over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Owen Deshazo (Boston College) had a day at the plate going 3-for-4, scoring three times with four RBIs and one stolen base. Broc Parmer (University of Texas, San Antonio) went 2-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Esteban Garcia (Boston College) went 1-for-3, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Logan Grubb (University of Kentucky) earned the win, throwing two scoreless no-hit innings with three strikeouts.

Kenosha 18, Royal Oak 4

The Kenosha Kingfish unleashed an offensive onslaught, racking up 18 runs on 18 hits to overpower the Royal Oak Leprechauns 18-4. Noah Alvarez (Cal State Bakersfield) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double, recording three RBIs, four runs scored, and three stolen bases. Will Matuszak (Santa Barbara City CC) went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, driving in three runs, scoring twice, and stealing two bases. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 1-for-4, scoring once with four RBIs and two stolen bases.  Hogan Denny (Indiana University) went 4-for-6, including a triple and a double, tallying two RBIs, two runs scored, and one stolen base. Jacob Vokal (Davidson College) earned the win, throwing three scoreless innings with five strikeouts, allowing two hits.

Minot 11, Bismarck 10

The Minot Hot Tots edged out the Bismarck Larks 11-10 with a late-game surge. Henry Allen (University of Georgia) was electric at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a pair of home runs and a triple, driving in six RBIs and scoring three times. Jonah Shields (Jacksonville University) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Ryan Castro (UC Irvine) went 3-for-4, scoring twice with one RBI. Kenskey Thomas (Ball State University) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs and two runs scored. Kingston Hangartner (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run and scored twice. Kevin Rahe (University of Wisconsin-Superior) earned the win, throwing 1.1 innings, allowing one hit and one run.

Waterloo 11, Willmar 8

The Waterloo Bucks outlasted the Willmar Stingers in an 11-8 victory. Jake Bechtel (North Carolina State University) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a pair of home runs, driving in three runs, scoring four runs, and stealing two bases. Caleb Parker (UW-Platteville) went 3-for-3, scoring twice with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Jake Slade (Virginia Tech) went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, tallying three RBIs. Jameson Martin (University of Minnesota) went 3-for-3 with a solo home run. Ryker Edwards (Johnson County Community College) went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Brandon Rice (Mount St. Mary’s University (MD)) earned the win, throwing 2.1 innings with one strikeout, allowing five hits, two earned runs, and one walk.

Mankato 11, Eau Claire 9

The Mankato MoonDogs collect their fourth win in a row, taking down the Eau Claire Express 11-9. Adrian Beltre Jr. (University of San Diego) went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and scored twice. Anthony Avalos (University of Houston) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Tony Lira (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 with three RBIs. Matthew Cormier (Cal State Northridge) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and scored twice. JJ Moran (Stanford University) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double, tallying five RBIs and one run scored. Alex Hendrickson (University of St. Thomas) went 4-for-6 with a double, recording one RBI and two runs scored. Lucas Rodenberg (University of South Alabama) earned the win, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing three walks and one hit. Ian Culver (University of Utah) got the save, throwing 1.1 innings with two strikeouts, allowing one hit and one run.

Duluth 8, Rochester 6

The Duluth Huskies outlasted the Rochester Honkers 8-6 in a 10-inning thriller, fueled by a three-run outburst in the top of the tenth. Rowan Kelly (UC Santa Barbara) went 4-for-5 with a solo home run and a double, tallying one RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases. Ethan Surowiec (University of Mississippi) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Trey Craig (Blinn JC) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Ethan Cole (University of Minnesota-Duluth) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Kolby Heskett (Oklahoma College-Tonkawa) earned the win, throwing three innings, allowing three hits, two runs, and one walk.

Wausau 8, Madison 7

The Wausau Woodchucks walked it off, defeating the Madison Mallards 8-7 in a thrilling contest. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi) came in clutch, going 1-for-5, driving in the walk-off knock. Max Soliz (University of Kansas) went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and a double, recording four RBIs and one run scored. Dylan Schlotterback (Paris JC) went 1-for-5 with a double, driving in one run, and scoring once. Daniel Rogers (University of Iowa) exploded at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three solo home runs. MJ Sweeney (Wichita State University) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double. Reece Clapp (Bradley University) earned the win, throwing one inning, striking out three of five batters faced, allowing one hit, one run, and one walk.

Kalamazoo 9, Traverse City 3

The Kalamazoo Growlers pulled away to defeat the Traverse City Pit Spitters 9-3, scoring five runs in a big eighth inning. Gabe Springer (Stanford University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, tallying two RBIs. JD Crisp (Xavier University) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Jeremiah Holder (Lafayette College) earned the win, throwing one scoreless no-hit inning, allowing two walks. Bryce Brannon (Duke University) got the save, throwing two innings, allowing one hit, one run, and one walk.

Rockford 17, Battle Creek 12

The Rockford Rivets stormed back with a seven-run eighth inning to top the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 17-12. Joe Forbes (University of Arizona) went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, driving in four runs and scoring three times. Jayce Blalock (Arkansas-Little Rock) went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a pair of doubles, tallying three RBIs and three runs scored. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 2-for-4 with a double, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Hunter Smolinski (Grand Canyon University) went 3-for-5, scoring twice with three RBIs. Nathan Ball (Central Michigan University) went 3-for-4 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Lance Mittelman (St. Peter’s University) earned the win, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing four hits, two runs, and one walk.

Badlands 6, St. Cloud 3

The Badlands Big Sticks rallied with a three-run fifth inning to take control and held off the St. Cloud Rox for a 6-3 victory. Connor Meidroth (University of San Diego) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2, scoring twice with two RBIs and three stolen bases. Ryker Schow (Brigham Young University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Ethan Gibson (Virginia Tech) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Jack Nelson (Arkansas State University) earned the win, throwing three perfect innings with two strikeouts.

Willmar 6, Waterloo 2

The Willmar Stingers used back-to-back three-run innings to secure a 6-2 win over the Waterloo Bucks. Colton Griffin (Texas Christian University) went 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Joey Craig (New Mexico State University) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI. Jordan Kuhnau (Hutchinson Community College) went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Frankie Santiago (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Louis Castano (Houston Christian University) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits and three walks.
