Noah Malone (Loyola Marymount University) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Jake Berkland (Minnesota State University) went 3-for-4 with one RBI and three stolen bases. MJ Sweeney (Wichita State University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Hunter Jones (Central Florida CC) earned the win, throwing two perfect innings, striking out three of six batters faced.
Kalamazoo 9, Battle Creek 5
The Kalamazoo Growlers used a six-run third inning to surge past the Battle Creek Battle Jacks in a 9-5 victory. Matthew Thompson (Kent State University) went 1-for-4 with a grand slam. Gabe Springer (Stanford University) went 2-for-3 with a double, driving in one run and scoring twice. Sam Griffith (Oakland University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Joshua Algarin (Walsh University) went 3-for-4 with a double and scored three times. Jack Crittendon (Kalamazoo Valley CC) earned the win, throwing three innings with three strikeouts, allowing five hits, two runs, and two walks. The La Crosse Loggers rallied late with a four-run ninth inning to walk off the Thunder Bay Border Cats in an 11-7 thriller. Savion Flowers (University of Kansas) came up clutch with a walk-off grand slam, going 1-for-3 on the night. Eddie Peters (Xavier University) went 2-for-5, scoring once with three RBIs and three stolen bases. Calvin Warrillow (Dodge City CC (KS)) went 1-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs. The Duluth Huskies capitalized on timely offense to defeat the Bismarck Larks 6-1. Ethan Surowiec (University of Florida) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run.
