Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 3 games.

Mankato 7, Wausau 2

The Mankato Habaneros used a three-run fifth and two-run sixth to pull away from the Wausau Ignite, winning 7-2. Alyssa Herrera (University of California) was perfect at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double, driving in four runs. Finley Anderson (Minnesota State University) went 1-for-3 with a triple, recording one RBI and two runs scored. Sailor Hall (Pittsburgh State University) went 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Riley Schwisow (Northwestern State University) went 2-for-4 with a triple, tallying one RBI and one run scored. Alexis Michon (Trine University) earned the win, throwing three scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing two hits. 

La Crosse 8, Minot 5

The La Crosse Steam struck early and held off a late push from the Minot Honeybees to secure an 8-5 win. Rachel Mori (UNC-Pembroke) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run. Grace Frechette (St. Cloud State University) went 2-for-3 with a double, recording two RBIs and two runs scored. Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee at Martin) went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one stolen base. Shayna Myshrall (Niagara University) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Kylie Stark (Bryant and Stratton (WI) CC) earned the win, throwing one inning, allowing one hit and one walk.

Minot 11, La Crosse 1

The Minot Honeybees exploded for six runs in the first inning and never looked back, cruising to an 11-1 victory over the La Crosse Steam. Olivia Lenzen (Wofford College) went 1-for-4 with a grand slam. Chloe Cummings (Siena College) went 1-for-2 with a triple, recording one RBI and two runs scored. Carly Cummings (San Jose State University) went 1-for-3 with a double, driving in two runs and scoring twice. Julianna Verni (Syracuse University) earned the win, throwing five innings with three strikeouts, allowing four hits, three walks, and one run.
