Madison 5, La Crosse 1

The Madison Night Mares took control early and never looked back to defeat the La Crosse Steam 5-1. Tia Durst (University of Washington) went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run. Emma Kavanagh (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee at Martin) went 2-for-3 with a double, scoring once and stealing one base. Karlie McKenzie (Eastern Illinois University) earned the win, throwing seven innings with four strikeouts, allowing three hits, three walks, and one run. 

La Crosse 7, Madison 6

The La Crosse Steam snapped the Madison Night Mares’ win streak, winning 7-6 in game two. Rachel Mori (UNC-Pembroke) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run. Calli Janik (Mount Mercy University) went 2-for-4 with a double, driving in three runs. Emma Kavanagh (University of Arizona) went 2-for-3 scoring once with two RBIs. Danielle Lucey went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Rachel Mori (UNC-Pembroke) earned the win throwing seven innings with three strikeouts allowing twelve hits, two earned runs, and two walks.
