
Davitt is the 417th NWL alum to debut in MLB
Rochester, Minn. – Former Waterloo Bucks right-handed pitcher Duncan Davitt made his Major League debut on Friday, April 10, 2026. Davitt is the 417th former Northwoods League player to reach the Major League level.
Davitt, a product of the University of Iowa, played for the Bucks in 2020 and 2021. The Indianola, Iowa, native compiled a 7-3 record with a 3.45 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 19 games (nine games in 2020 and 10 games in 2021) across his two summers with Waterloo. He also participated in the 2021 NWL Major League Dreams Showcase.
Davitt was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 18th round of the 2022 MLB Draft. He was acquired by the Chicago White Sox in a trade in July 2025 and added to the 40-man roster in November 2025.
Minor League Statistics by Season:
2022 (Rookie – FCL, Rays): Appeared in three games (1 start), went 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA in 4.1 innings.
2023 (Single-A Charleston & High-A Bowling Green, Rays): Combined 28 games, 5-4 record, 4.95 ERA in 80.0 innings, with 92 strikeouts.
2024 (High-A Bowling Green & Double-A Montgomery, Rays): Split time between levels, appeared in 26 games, went 7-10 with a 3.64 ERA in 136.2 innings, striking out 141 batters.
2025 (Double-A Montgomery & Triple-A Durham/Charlotte): Pitched in 28 games, posted a 7-8 record with a 4.42 ERA across 152.0 innings, recording 150 strikeouts.
2026 (Triple-A Charlotte, White Sox): Made two starts before his call-up, going 0-1 with a 7.88 ERA in 8.0 innings, striking out 11.
In his Major League debut against the Kansas City Royals, Davitt entered in relief in the eighth inning. He walked the first batter he faced but induced a double play and finished the frame without allowing a run.
