The Growlers rallied from an early deficit with a three-run seventh inning and held on for a 3–2 victory over the Battle Jacks, but it was JJ Manion (Grand Valley State University) who set the tone on the mound. Manion delivered one of the most dominant pitching performances of the night, striking out 10 batters over six innings while allowing just one run on seven hits. His ability to consistently miss bats and keep Kalamazoo within striking distance paved the way for the late comeback and earned him Pitcher of the Night honors.
