Wausau 6, La Crosse 5

The Ignite outlasted the Steam, 6-5, in a back-and-forth battle, using a four-run second inning to build an early lead before holding off a late comeback. Both teams scored in the seventh, but the Ignite held on for the one-run victory. Marley Teasley (University of Washington) went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Megan McGinnis (Saint Mary’s University (MN)) finished 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. For the Steam, Josie Brudos (Winona State University) drove in three runs, going 1-for-4, and Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee-Martin) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Maya Rudy (Benedictine University) earned the win, tossing 2.1 innings while allowing three hits and striking out one.

Madison 10, Grand Forks 1

The Night Mares cruised to a 10-1 victory over the Spitfires, jumping out to an early lead with four runs in each of the first two innings and never looking back. Tele Jennings (University of Arizona) had a huge day at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Danielle Lucey (University of Wisconsin) finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and a double, driving in four runs and scoring twice. Mickayla Touch (Wichita State University) added another two-run homer, going 2-for-4. Ryan Maddox (University of Washington) earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and three walks while striking out four.
