
The Madison Night Mares have the most selections for the July 11 game in Madison, WI at Warner Park
Rochester, Minn. — The Northwoods League has announced the rosters for the inaugural Northwoods League Softball All-Star Game, which will be played on Saturday, July 11 at 7:05 p.m. (CST) in Madison, WI at Warner Park, the home of the Madison Night Mares.
Representing the East All Stars, the Madison Night Mares have eight players on the roster. Madison is led on the mound by Leila Ammon (Mississippi State University). She is currently 4-0 with a 2.12 ERA and 32 strikeouts in 29.2 innings. The Night Mares will also feature catcher Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin) and outfielder Ava Carroll (University of Washington) among their selections. Carroll is currently hitting .540 with 31 RBI and Blomberg leads the Northwoods League in home runs with ten.
Also participating on the East team, the Wausau Ignite have four selections and the La Crosse Steam have three.
The West All-Stars have five players from the Grand Forks Spitfires, five from the Minot Honeybees, and four from the Mankato Habaneros.
The Spitfires are led by P/INF Mattison Kwarta (San Diego State University). Kwarta is hitting .480 with seven home runs, while leading the league with five wins in the pitcher’s circle with 32 strikeouts. Spitfires teammate Ally Hetzel (University of Washington) joins her batting .459 so far this season. Minot Honeybee pitcher Parker Rowden (Lafayette College) brings four wins and League-leading 41 strikeouts to the All-Star Game. Among the Habaneros players coming to Madison, is two-way player Sailor Hall (Pittsburg State University). Hall is batting .472 with 30 hits and has spent time pitching and playing in the outfield for the Habaneros.
The coaching staffs leading the East (Madison Night Mares) and West (Grand Forks Spitfires) will lead the two teams.
A bracketed 8-player Home Run Challenge will take place at 5:30pm prior to the All-Star Game. University of Wisconsin junior and Madison Night Mare Hilary Blomberg headlines the event with a League-leading ten home runs, 1.033 SLG, and 1.548 OPS.
This year’s All-Stars were chosen by an AI-Based statistical model built by Northwoods League Chief Information and Experience Officer Scott Witwer with input from the Northwoods League Office.

Leveraging the 32-year success of the Northwoods League, the first for-profit Summer Collegiate Baseball League, Northwoods League Softball (NWLS) is the first for-profit Women’s Summer Collegiate Softball League that began play in the Upper Midwest in the summer of 2024. The purpose of the League will be to develop players for their college, Olympic and future professional play.
