Battle Creek rallied from an early deficit to edge Rockford 9–8. The Battle Jacks scored seven unanswered runs through the middle innings and held off a late Rivets rally to secure the victory. Gehrig Goldbeck (University of Missouri) had a great day at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a home run and a double, driving in four runs and scoring twice.
