The Green Bay Bullfrogs Baseball Club announced that they will hold their 3rd Annual “Bullfrogs Hot Stove” presented by WFRV Channel 5 on Thursday, February 5, 2009.

The Waterloo Bucks announced the rehiring of Travis Kiewiet to be the bench coach for the 2009 season. Kiewiet held the same position for Waterloo in 2008.

The La Crosse Loggers baseball club added to their 2009 roster by nabbing a pair of infielders. Team officials announced that junior infielders Austin Knight from Dallas Baptist and Chris Engell from the University of San Diego will be dawning the Logger green this summer.

Team management of the new Northwoods League franchise in Brainerd revealed the team’s identity tonight with the announcement that the team is named the “Brainerd Lakes Area Lunkers”. The team’s logo, featuring a large fish emerging from behind the Lunkers nickname towards a baseball-baited fishing pole and line, was also unveiled. The team colors are blue and orange.

The Northwoods League announced the release of its 2009 schedule today. The 68-game season will begin on the final Thursday in May for the third consecutive year when the NWL's 16th season opens on May 28th.
