The Duluth Huskies (4-3) lose to the St. Cloud Rox (3-4) on Monday June 6th.

It was a pitching duel for the start of the game between Martin Alcoverde of the Huskies and Austin Caspersen of the Rox. It wasn’t until the top of the 4th inning when the Rox scored with Luke Ringhofer on a wild pitch from Alcoverde. By the 8th inning the Rox began to run away with the lead, starting with a double from Ricky Ramirez, who later scored. Later Ben Petersen, who was hit by a pitch, scored on a single from Chris Kwitzer. The Huskies remained scoreless the whole game.

Austin Caspersen earned the win for the Rox while pitching 7 innings with 6 hits, 0 runs, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Andrew Burnick received the save for the Rox pitching 2 innings allowing 0 hits with 1 strikeout. Martin Alcoverde will be handed the loss, pitching 5.2 innings with 4 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Wade Regas relieved Alcoverde for 2.1 innings with 2 hits, 2 runs, 0 walks and 0 strikeouts. Trevino Rodriguez also made an appearance for the final inning with 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
