The Duluth Huskies (7-9) lost to the Eau Claire Express (10-6) Wednesday night.

The game started off with a 30-minute rain delay, pushing back the start time to 7:05. Luck was not on the Huskies side tonight as the hits were few and far apart. The Huskies struck first in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly RBI by Daniel Gardner driving in Daniel Amaral. Although the Huskies started off hot the Express scored 9 unanswered runs leading up to the 7th inning. In the bottom of the 7th, the Huskies were able to get 2 runs on the board. It started off with a walk by Dillon Paulson. The next batter Justin Ambrosino in his debut with the Huskies was able to drive Paulson in with an RBI triple. Two batters later, Carter Hanford was able to drive Ambrosino in with an RBI triple. That ended the Huskies offensive night.

Dan Loats got the start on the mound for the Huskies Wednesday night going 4 innings allowing 5 runs on 9 hits. He was replaced by Quentin Longrie allowing 4 runs on 6 hits in 3 innings of work. The last pitcher of the night Drew Mullinax going 2 innings allowing no hits and no runs.

The Huskies stars for the night were Daniel Amaral who went 2 of 4 with 1 run scored in his Huskies debut. Nic Strasser went 2 of 3 with a walk. Carter Hanford went 1 for 3 with a walk and 1 RBI.

The Huskies are on the road for the next 4 nights in Rochester then St. Cloud. They will return home on Tuesday, June 21 for West Duluth Business Night. The first pitch from Wade Stadium is at 6:35.
