The Duluth Huskies (24-31) lost to the La Crosse Loggers (26-28) Thursday night at Wade Stadium.

The Huskies had a rough start dropping behind three runs in the first inning. Mason McCoy, Cullen Large and Fennel scoring for the Loggers. Nick Schranck and McCoy scored in the 5th making the lead 5-0. The Loggers were not done there, scoring three more in the 7th. Runs scored by Schranck, McCoy and Lars Nootbaar. The game was not looking so good for the Huskies until the bottom of the 9th inning. Justin Ambrosino hit a monster 2 run home run and scoring with Ambrosino was Dillion Paulson. Tyler Madis playing in his first game with the Huskies scored from an Austin Bernard hit. Next batter, Jake Pries, drove in Bernard and Brendon McClary to bring the Huskies witnin 3 runs of the Loggers. Unfortunately, that is were it ended for the Huskies as they lose 8-5.

Starting for the Huskies was Corey Gaconi. He pitched five innings giving up 5 runs with 7 hits while getting 6 strikeouts. Replacing Gaconi in the 6th was Alex Ferguson. Ferguson pitched 1.1 innings giving up 3 runs. David Kroger took over and pitched the rest of the game with one strikeout.

Jack Ralston started on the mound for the Loggers. Ralston pitched 7 innings giving up no runs with 3 strikeouts as he earned himself a win. Lorenzo Hampton Jr. was up next for the loggers pitching 1.1 innings giving up 4 runs with one strikeout. Taking over for Hampton was Joe DiBenetto finishing the game with one stikeout of his own as he earns the save tonight.

The Huskies are back at Wade Stadium Friday, July 29th vs the La Crosse Loggers ending a four game home stand. First pitch from Wade Stadium is scheduled for 6:35 with gates opening at 5:35. Friday is Surprise Bobble Head night at the Wade.
