Duluth, Minn. — A mostly new-look Huskies coaching staff has finally been completed with the signing of Bryce Graddy. Graddy hails from Lodi, CA and is currently the infielding and first base coach of the San Joaquin Delta College Mustangs. The former high school and college player will come to Duluth with two years of collegiate coaching experience.

Graddy’s playing career in college actually began at San Joaquin Delta where he spent his first two years as a starter for the team. He finished out his amateur career with Cal Poly Pomona where he would again be a two-year starter. When it was all said and done, he was a part of two state tournament teams and one regional tournament squad.

In an effort to stay in the sport he loves, Bryce started coaching a traveling baseball team based out of Anaheim, CA. He parlayed his success there into his current job at his former school. The new Huskies coach already has some notable history with his new Field Manager, Marcus Pointer. “Coach Pointer actually was my coach for a 17U team”, mentioned Graddy, “I think it was his first team that he ever coached”.

The third Californian on the staff has shown just as much passion and pride in his craft as the first two. When asked what his goals are for the 2020 season, Graddy simply stated, “

[I want] every team that I coach to have the best Infield in the league”. The former infielder is most excited about coaching in the Northwoods League, a league he said he never got the chance to play in. “I’m excited to become a Husky…  I didn’t have the chance as a player so when the opportunity came as a coach, I was all in”.

Cross out another item on the offseason to-do list! Now that the coaching staff is set, the Huskies will continue rounding out the roster and the promotion schedule! Be on the lookout for more updates in the future. Don’t forget to stay connected with the Huskies on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as well as the official website duluthhuskies.com.
