Duluth Huskies Accepting Applications for 2025 ‘Share the Glove’ Youth Softball Equipment Grant

The Duluth Huskies are proud to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 ‘Share the Glove’ Softball Equipment Grant. 

What is the grant?
The grant is a standardized set of Rawlings equipment, sized for youth ages 9-12. There will be a softball grant awarded to the surrounding Duluth Communities.

Equipment Grant: Softball

• (1) Set of Catcher’s Gear (helmet, chest protector, shin guards, and mitt)
• (6) batting helmets
• (9) fielding gloves (7 x right, 2 x left)
• (1) bucket of practice softballs
• (3) bats (1 x 27″, 1 x 28″, 1 x 29″) 

This is the eighth year the Northwoods League Foundation is partnering with Rawlings and its member teams to distribute baseball and softball equipment to 24 youth organizations through this initiative. “The Share the Glove program embodies the Foundation’s mission of supporting local communities through a shared love for the games of softball and baseball,” said Tina Coil, Deputy Commissioner of the Northwoods League. “What better way to build future generations of players and fans than putting equipment directly into the hands of young kids throughout our communities.”

Who is eligible to receive the grant?

The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible to receive the grant:

1. The organization qualifies as a 501(c)(3) organization, school or school-based program, or community-based organization as defined under US IRC section 501(c)(3);
2. The organization is not an individual, for-profit business, political, or religious organization;
3. The organization provides opportunities for kids ages 9-12 to play baseball or softball within a community that is served by a Northwoods League affiliate.

How will grant applications be accepted and awarded?
The Duluth Huskies will be accepting applications from organizations in the surrounding community. Fill out a Share the Glove Grant Application by clicking the link below to be considered. Grant recipients will be notified in June. The team will be invited to Wade Stadium to be presented and accept their new equipment on field during a game.
