Astroturf is now on site and is installing the artificial turf surface. With gorgeous weather the crews have made excellent progress. The install process should take approximately 15-22 days.
The scoreboard structure design has been approved by the administration. Installation has yet to be determined but fans can be excited about what they will see in the near future.
Concrete work is in the final phases and should be close to completion once Astroturf has completed their load in. Stairs and accessible area ramps and seating areas will be worked on in the coming days. In addition, front entrance concrete work will begin once the new drain tiles are installed along the west alley of the stadium. Once complete, crews will install a decorative concrete entry way which will improve the look as well as control water runoff and halt the damage to the front entrance caused by water
The team of TKDA and Krause Anderson have done a great job of keeping this tight construction schedule on time. Mother Nature deserves some love too, but with all of the difficult details that pop up in old facilities they have proven that they can hit any curve ball thrown at them.
The new scoreboard and message center have been approved and the process for the purchasing and installation is being addressed now.
Our City crews from the folks at Building Maintenance, Street and Park Maintenenace, and Parks and Recreation also have pitched in to make sure the process is supported.
