INTERNSHIPS
The Duluth Huskies, members of the Northwoods League, are currently accepting applications for internships.
Each position is designed to provide interested and qualified candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fun and hardworking family entertainment and baseball environment. The long hours and hard work are expected to make an easy transition into working in professional sports or any industry.
Fall Internships (September – December):
These internships will focus on ticket sales with outbound calls to customers, business groups, and sponsors. There are flexible hours and school credit can be attained for their work. The interns will also help with the final decison for next season’s promotions. This fall internship creates a unique opportunity for candidates wanting to work in the sports world, by giving them the opportunity to see a more behind the scenes look at the planning stages of a season.
Full Season Internships (January – August):
These positions will focus on the business of sports, providing the recipient with important experience in business group sales, sponsorship and ticket sales, marketing, customer service and exposure to all other aspects of the operation during the off-season. These internships will also result in Team Lead roles for the Summer Interns in a supervisory capacity. We require a minimum 40 hours per week to perform this internship (50-80 hours per week in the summer). Internship is either for school credit or Sales Commission.
Summer Internships (May – August):
The full-time summer internship will provide you with a tremendous understanding of all areas of the baseball operation as you assist with the execution of the Duluth Huskies season. Candidates must be willing to work long hours when the team is at home for the entire summer (between 60-80 hours per week during homestands – this is not an exaggeration). Applicants must not have another job and priority is given to upper class Juniors and Seniors. Internship is non paid, but does offer school credit. Housing at the University of Wisconsin-Superior can be arranged upon hiring for those who need it, ask for more information during interview.
The summer internships provide experience in the areas listed below. While there is no guarantee that an internship will be available within your specific area of interest, you will have the opportunity to learn about all of these areas of the operation.
