Kenosha, WI – March 12, 2015 – The American Cancer Society and Kenosha Kingfish invite the Kenosha community to participate in Bark For Life, a noncompetitive walk for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness in the fight against cancer. The walk will be held on Saturday, May 9th, from 10am – 2pm at the Historic Simmons Field, 7817 Sheridan Road, Home of the Kenosha Kingfish. There is no registration fee to participate in the event; however, participants are encouraged to fundraise, and will receive incentives for doing so. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Kenosha event.

The event itself will have an opening and closing ceremony, demos, contests, games, and more. A day of fun for the whole family!

Entry is FREE for the family friendly event and open to the public. Ballpark food and beverage will be available for purchase throughout the duration of the event. The event will also feature the Aurora Health Care Kid Zone games including the bounce house, speed pitch, bobblehead ring toss, and Kingfish sandbox.

In 2014, the Bark For Life of Kenosha event raised over $1,000. With the new Kenosha Kingfish partnership, organizers are hoping to reach a goal of $4,000 this year.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life is an event that honors the caregiving qualities of canine companions and remembers those dogs/owners that have lost their life to cancer. By supporting Bark For Life, you can help the American Cancer Society save lives, helping us move closer to a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

Funds raised at the Bark For Life of Kenosha will also support the Relay For Life of Kenosha’s fundraising efforts. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration in which individuals and teams camp out and take turns walking the track and raising funds to fight cancer. At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminaria candles around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease.
