MADISON, WIS. ? The Mankato MoonDogs scored a run in the top of the ninth inning to defeat Madison 9-8 in Northwoods League baseball Sunday.

The MoonDogs opened the game with four runs in the first inning and led 7-0 after their at-bat in the third inning. But the Mallards rallied to tie the game at 8 with two runs in the seventh.

Ryan Hamilton was the winning pitcher in relief. Jeremiah Piepkorn homered.

The Mallards host the Moon Dogs today at 12:05.
