Brian Kroll pitched eight scoreless innings allowing only two hits to pace the Madison Mallards 7-0 victory over the Thunder Bay Border Cats. The Mallards rocked Border Cats starter Andy Kreidermacher for five runs in two and two thirds innings of work. Shortstop Mike Rozema led the offensive charge for the Mallards going two for four and scoring three runs. First Baseman Joe Thaman also had a pair of runs and knocked in an RBI.
A crowd of 4,500 watched the Mallards improve to 17-9 on the season. Madison started the day two games behind Rochester in the Northwoods League South Division. The win over Thunder Bay is the Mallards fourth straight. Madison will try and continue the streak when they start a four game road trip in Waterloo Sunday, June 29th.
