The Mallards used a 5-run sixth inning outburst to propel them to a 11-10 victory in Waterloo Wednesday evening. After losing their last two games to the Thunder Bay Border Cats and the Bucks a day earlier, the Mallards (11-10) needed a victory to stay above .500.

Mike Rohde highlighted a strong offensive showing by the Mallards, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Chad Frk, Jeff Bieker, and Ryan Rogowski also contributed two RBIs for Madison. The Mallards scored 11 runs on 11 hits in the contest.

The Mallards scored two runs apiece in the first and third innings to hold a 4-1 advantage after three innings of play. Waterloo responded to make it a one-run game through the fifth inning, but the Mallards answered with five runs of their own in the top of the sixth and held the Honkers off to notch the win.

The Mallards return home tonight to face the Rochester Honkers. Mallards tickets can be purchased online at www.mallardsbaseball.com, or at our ticket office located at 2920 N. Sherman Ave.
