For the first time ever, the Madison Mallards and Madison Area Technical College have partnered together to host a Holiday Baseball Camp. With sessions running from December 27th through the 30th, kids anywhere from 2nd grade through high school seniors can participate. The camp will be held at the MATC Truax Campus in the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium located at 3550 Anderson Street, Madison, WI.

With Christmas Break fast approaching, this is the perfect opportunity for kids who are looking for ways to stay active during the winter. Baseball is an especially difficult sport for kids to play during the winter months because there just aren?t enough facilities in the area that allow kids to practice and improve. That is exactly what the Madison Mallards and MATC want to fix.

The camp will consist of three sessions:
Hitter?s Camp (December 27-28, both days)
Pitcher?s Camp (December 29-30, both days)
Defensive Position Camp (December 29-30, both days)

The times for each session are broken up for each age group. Those times can be found in the registration brochure which you can find on the MATC athletic website at http://matcmadison.edu/athletics.

Each camper can expect individualized coaching from some of the very best coaches and players in the area including but not limited to: CJ Thieleke, the head coach of the Madison Mallards, an assistant coach with MATC and a former professional player in the Minnesota Twins Organization. Mike Davenport, the head coach at MATC and a current scout with the Chicago White Sox. And Darin Everson, an assistant coach at MATC, a former professional player with the Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos Organizations and a current professional baseball scout. Plus there will be current players from both MATC and the Madison Mallards Baseball Club.
