For the second straight night a huge crowd showed up at the Duck Pond, tonight however, fans were not quite as jovial exiting the ballpark as the Mallards dropped a 3-2 decision to the Rochester Honkers in front of 6,797 fans.

Adam Mills took the tough luck loss for the Mallards, pitching seven innings of solid baseball. The right-hander scattered nine hits while allowing only two earned runs while striking out four, but watched the Mallards offense strand ten runners.

Much of the Mallard offense came from Ryan Rogowski, as he had the only Mallard RBI. Rogowski also scored the Mallards first run of the game. Mike Rohde continued his torrid hitting with two more doubles in Saturday night?s game. Kris Rochelle and Danny Dressman each recorded two hits for the Mallards as well.

Tim Gudex and Erik Walker each kept Honker hitters guessing, as they each struck out two batters in one inning of relief each.

The Mallards and Honkers hook up again Sunday night at 6:05 p.m. as Jake Hansen (4-1) takes the hill for the Mallards against Ben Jukich (4-1) for the Honkers. Great seats are still available for purchase both online, at www.mallardsbaseball.com, or by calling 246.4277.
