Madison, WI – March 31, 2009. With Opening Day now less than 62 days away, the Mallards are excited to announce the team’s sixth annual First Pitch Event detailing ballpark improvements, promotions, and the 2009 roster, will be held on Thursday, April 30 at 6 p.m. at the Great Dane Hilldale location. Hosted by booming-voiced PA announcer Aaron Sims, Mallards Manager C.J. Thieleke will first take the stage to provide insight on forming this year’s squad. General Manager Vern Stenman will then discuss exciting improvements to the ballpark in 2009 and a first-look at the promotional schedule that includes the team’s first-ever 5-part bobblehead series. Pocket schedules will also be available to the public for the first time. After 250 people attended the event last year both parties decided to move the engagement to the restaurant’s new and spacious pool hall located at 357 Price Place.

Admission is free to the public & ballpark food, soda, and beer will be provided.  The first 250 fans will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Sports Impressions & other merchandise will also be available for purchase.
