Madison, WI – March 22, 2012. Madison Magazine and WISC-TV’s Live at Five along with Next Generation Consulting have named the Madison Mallards one of Madison’s Best Places to Work for 2012. The Mallards are one of 20 winners recognized in the April 2012 issue of Madison Magazine which hit news stands today.
The Mallards have 15 full-time employees, and annually hire six seasonal positions, 24 interns, and over 300 game-day staff.
“Mallards Baseball is all about having fun whether you are a fan, a player or an employee,” said Mallards General Manager Conor Caloia. “This award is a testament to the dedication and loyalty of the more than 350 employees that make the experience at the “Duck Pond” so much fun.”
A record 110 companies were nominated, with more than half of those completing the extensive survey phase evaluated by Next Generation Consulting.
The survey measures six areas of employee engagement: trust, management, development, rewards, connection and life-work balance. New this year was a separate human resources questionnaire that rated organizations in the areas of sustainability and diversity.
“This year’s winners were more qualified than ever before and those that made it into the top 10 scored higher than previous winners in nearly all areas of employee engagement,” says Madison Magazine editor Brennan Nardi. “Madison gets high marks for being a great place to live. Our survey shows it’s a great place to work, too, and highlights the best practices of those leading the way.”
Companies were divided into two groups based on organization size – those with 100 and more employees and those with under 100. The Top 10 Organizations in each category were recognized and were ranked by best score based on 80% Employee Engagement, 15% Sustainability, and 5% Diversity. The Mallards ranked seventh in the companies with over 100 employees.
The Mallards will host their season opener against the Battle Creek Bombers on May 30th at 7:05 pm at the “Duck Pond.” 7-Game Packs, season, and group tickets are on sale now! Single-game tickets go on sale April 28th.
The Madison Mallards are part of the 16-team Northwoods League. The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other Summer Collegiate Baseball League in North America.
