June29_PregameThe Mallards (18-10) will play the first game of a doubleheader this morning against the Rockford Rivets (13-14) from Rockford, Illinois. The game is set for 11 am from Rockford Stadium.

Luke Shilling (Illinois) will make his first start of the season for the Mallards, as the bullpen regular hopes to showcase his stuff in extended innings against the Rivets. Shilling has appeared in ten games this season, pitching to a 1-1 record in 13 innings. He’s struck out ten, walked ten and has posted a 3.46 ERA.

Rockford will throw Ethan Howard (Kirkwood CC), who will be making his fifth start of 2016. Howard is 0-1 with a 4.79 ERA in 20.2 innings of work.

The Mallards will return to the Duck Pond tonight, June 29th to take on the Rockford Rivets at 7:05 pm in the second game of the doubleheader. The theme for the game will be 80’s Night, with a tribute to Prince. It will also be Mullet Night at Warner Park, where fans can earn one dollar off of a hot dog for every inch of their authentic mullet. Do the math and we’ll pay you to eat a hot dog!
