Playoffs_2016Madison, WI- August 6, 2016.  With two wins Friday night, the Madison Mallards (40-24, 17-11) have officially clinched a berth in the 2016 Northwoods League South Division Playoffs.

 

 

 

 

The Mallards will be playing a to be determined opponent on the first day of the Northwoods League South Division Playoffs on Monday, August 15th. The location of the game is to be determined.

The Mallards can clinch a home playoff game under the following scenarios:

If the Mallards win the second half of the South Division, they will be at home on Monday, August 15th.

If the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters win the second half of the South division, and the Mallards finish in second place in terms of overall record, the Mallards will host a home playoff game on Monday, August 15th.

With eight games remaining in the regular season, the Mallards currently trail the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (42-21, 18-9) by 1.5 games for first place in the second half of the South division. They have a 5.5 game lead over the Battle Creek Bombers (34-29, 16-11) for second place in terms of overall record in the South division.

The Mallards will head to Kalamazoo on Saturday as they take on the Kalamazoo Growlers at 5:05 CST.
