Madison, Wis.  The Madison Mallards (3-4) are looking to end their three-game road trip with a victory as they take on the Kalamazoo Growlers (3-4) on Tuesday morning at Homer Stryker Field. Madison topped Kalamazoo last night, 12-6. Doran Turchin (Illinois) paved the way offensively for the Mallards as he went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.

Trailing 3-1 in the top of the fourth, the Mallards were able to break the game open with a five run inning. Kian O’Brien (Madison College) and Turchin both notched RBI singles. Two Mallards then scored on an error by the Kalamazoo shortstop on a ground ball hit by Jett Manning (Alabama). After Kalamazoo tied the game in the six, Madison again pulled ahead with a five run inning. In the top of the eighth, Manning knocked in a run on a hit and Turchin went yard, driving in three. The Mallards tacked on another run in the ninth and won 12-6.

Turchin has continued to lead the Mallards offense as he now owns a .462 batting average and has reached base at a .576 clip. Turchin now has 14 RBI which leads the Northwoods League. Cade Bunnell (Madison College) sits at fourth-place in the league in RBI as he’s tallied 8 while batting .250.

Scheduled to start for the Mallards is Simon Rosenblum-Larson (Harvard).
