The Madison Mallards (5-8) dropped the first game of a two-game series with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (12-1 ) on Sunday afternoon at Witter Field. Tonight, the Mallards will look to snap the Rafters ten-game win streak with a Monday evening match-up set for 7:05 PM from Witter Field.

In order to get the victory tonight, the Mallards offense will have to respond and put pressure on Rapids pitching. After going 3-for-4 with two doubles in yesterday’s game, Angel Camacho (Jacksonville) will look to produce in the middle of the Madison lineup. Doran Turchin (Illinois) and Kian O’Brien (Madison College) will also be key offensively to getting the Mallards back in the win column.

Scheduled to start on the mound for the Mallards tonight is Simon Rosenblum-Larson (Harvard). Rosenblum-Larson has been the Mallards most effective starter this season as he has started two games and tossed 12.2 innings while giving up just one earned run. Rosenblum-Larson has struck out 16 batters while issuing just two free passes. A lengthy outing from Rosenblum-Larson will help the Mallards snap the Wisconsin Rapid win streak.

Set to oppose Rosenblum-Larson is Rafters starter Quinn DiPasquale. DiPasquale has made two starts this season, tossing 11.2 innings and giving up two runs. He owns a 1.54 ERA and has racked up ten strikeouts.

First pitch is set for 7:05 PM tonight at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids. To listen live, tune into The Zone 106.7 FM or 1670 AM. The Mallards return home on Thursday, June 15th to face the Green Bay Bullfrogs. For more Mallards coverage check out mallardsbaseball.com.
