Due to the weather last weekend, the Mallards have added two additional open interview dates. Open Interviews will be held Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and Wednesday, April 25 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. 

Every spring the Madison Mallards look for qualified, customer service oriented, and outgoing individuals to work at the Duck Pond during our next baseball season. Open interview dates will be held in early April. All interested candidates are invited to apply. We ask that you complete our online application process prior to interviewing for any of our available gameday positions. Each summer the Mallards employ over 400 part-time staff for various roles around the ballpark. Below is a list of gameday positions along with a short description of the duties and responsibilities pertinent to each role. Open interviews will be held on Saturday, April 7 and Saturday, April 14 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Interviews are open to the public and no reservations are necessary. They will be held at the ballpark (2920 N. Sherman Ave.) and signage will direct you where to go upon arrival. ​

The Mallards hire staff for the following gameday positions:

UsherDirects fans to their seats and answers any questions they may have. This requires an increased knowledge of the Duck Pond and its various areas and a willingness to inquire with full-time staff if needed to ensure our fans are receiving the correct information in a kind and timely manner. Ushers are also responsible for maintaining an orderly parking system.

Souvenirs/Merchandise – Assist Mallards fans in finding the apparel or memorabilia of their choice. Provide a positive experience for the fans while efficiently entering the cash and credit transactions.

Hospitality ServersProvide service to the suite customers, including but not limited to; preparing the suite with food and beverage for the event, maintaining suite cleanliness, and providing a positive experience for all members of the group. Suite servers must be at least 18 years of age and have an outgoing personality. 

ConcessionsEmployees hold various roles throughout the ballpark in food and beverage areas. Employees must provide excellent customer service, display an understanding of food and beverage options within a designated area, and follow closely the health and sanitation guidelines set forth by the Mallards. Responsibilities vary by area and position as follows:

Grillers – Responsible for ensuring Mallards fans receive the freshest food possible in a timely manner.  Grillers will follow specific food preparation and sanitation guidelines designed to create a consistently quality product. Interested candidates should have experience in a kitchen environment, and be able to work in a fast paced, hot environment.  

Runners – Runners serve as liaisons between the Grillers and Cashiers to fill the customer’s order. They’re focus is on efficiently receiving the customer’s order from the cashier and working with the grillers to produce the products that they need to complete the order. Runners are accessible to customers and should be helpful and responsive to their wants, needs, and concerns. Interested candidates should have a positive attitude and work well in group settings.

Cashiers – Cashiers are the face of the Mallards food and beverage experience. They are expected to greet and accommodate customers with a positive attitude and a smile.  Cashiers are responsible for managing cash and credit transactions at each of our concessions areas while processing accurate and timely concessions orders. Interested candidates should have a positive attitude, outgoing personality and work well in group settings.

Dishwashers – Responsible for washing, sanitizing, and storing all dishes and utensils according to proper procedures explained by the concessions manager. Additionally dishwashers will have a role assisting the concessions managers and grillers when there are no dishes.

Duck Blind – Duck Blind employees are expected to greet and serve customers with a positive attitude and a smile.  They are accessible to customers and should be helpful and responsive to their wants, needs, and concerns. Interested candidates should have a positive attitude, work well in group settings, and be able to work in a fast paced environment as the Duck Blind is often one of our busiest areas throughout the season. Duck Blind employees are responsible for taking and fulfilling customer food orders, minor pre-game food preparation(s), and some post-game clean-up tasks.

Beer Pourers – Beer Pourers are expected to have great customer service skills and follow proper alochol awareness policies. Cash handling and being able to work in a fast-paced environment are major qualifications for this position.

Warehouse – Responsible for the movement of product throughout the ballpark as well as helping keep a clean and organized work environment. Warehouse staff consists of a keg moving crew (18 or older) who are responsible for changing and moving beer kegs to keep areas stocked throughout the duration of the event. Other warehouse staff will be responsible for transfer of non-beer related items from storage locations to various concessions locations throughout the park. This position requires some heavy lifting.
