LOCASH to Headline 96.3 Star Country Stage Presented By The Diamond Center at Festival Foods Shake the Lake 2018

Smithfield added as opener

The Madison Mallards and Festival Foods are excited to announce two music acts that will take 96.3 Star Country Stage presented by The Diamond Center at Festival Foods Shake the Lake 2018. Now in its fourth year, the free community celebration is planned for Saturday, June 23, 2018.

Country music duo LOCASH will headline the stage located on the east side of the Monona Terrace. With a sound that fuses modern Country and classic heartland Rock with an edgy vocal blend, the duo comprised of Chris Lucas and Preston Burst are one of the hardest working groups in music. The natives of Baltimore and Indianapolis, respectively, were nominated at the 2017 ACM awards for New Vocal Duo, the CMT Awards for Duo Video of the Year, and the CMA awards for Vocal Duo of the Year. With two albums and eight charting singles, LOCASH broke out in 2015 with their GOLD-certified hit, “I Love This Life,” and followed up with the #1 smash, “I Know Somebody.” Their latest single “Don’t Get Better Than That” is the first single from their highly anticipated sophomore release, expected in summer 2018.

Rising country act Smithfield will be the first act to take 96.3 Star Country Stage presented by The Diamond Center when music begins. Smithfield was founded in 2011 with a dream as big as their home state of Texas. Comprised of vocalists Trey and Jennifer, Smithfield took the stage by storm with their memorable music and stunning harmonies. Having grown up together, their onstage chemistry is undeniably genuine and natural. Mixing the heavily rock influenced background of Trey and the classical country tendency of Jennifer, Smithfield creates a contemporary country sound that’s different and compelling.

A full schedule of artists will continue to be announced over the coming weeks. The rock stage will feature The Jayhawks and The Verve Pipe. Both stages will have standing room only space, available on a first come, first served basis. Admission to the event is free.

All music will conclude at 10:00 PM, when Wisconsin’s largest fireworks display, the Festival Foods Fireworks show, will begin. Reeseville, Wisconsin-based Spectrum Pyrotechnics, will conduct the fireworks show. The company is one of just a few manufacturers of display fireworks left in the United States, and Festival Foods Shake the Lake is honored to present its custom work.
