Madison, Wis. –  After picking up a win at Lakeshore last night, the Madison Mallards (2-7, 30-15) return home looking to sweep the Chinooks (7-2, 23-21) tonight at Warner Park. Tonight’s game is scheduled to get underway at 7:05 PM and gates will open at 5:30 PM. Thegame features a celebration for 25 years of The Sandlot presented by The Payroll Company.

 

The Mallards scored ten runs on their way to a five-run victory in Lakeshore last night. It was the first time the Mallards have scored ten runs since Saturday, June 30 when Madison clinched the South Division first half title. The Mallards went on to win three games in a row after defeating the Bullfrogs 12-6.

 

Probable Pitchers

 

The Mallards plan to start Texas A&M lefty Dustin Saenztonight against the Chinooks. Saenz will be making his first start at the Duck Pond after making a trio of starts on the road over the last three weeks. Saenz currently holds a 4.26 ERA through 12.2 innings of work while adding 11 strikeouts and walking only five men. Saenz has not allowed more than two earned runs in a single outing all summer.

 

Kenosha is scheduled to start right-hander Nate Odahl. Odahl will be making his seventh start of the season tonight against the Mallards and will be looking for his fourth win. Odahl has pitched 23.2 innings and has yet to face the Mallards this summer. In his last start, Odahl was able to last only 2.0 innings as he issued five walks and allowed a pair of runs.

 

Players to Watch

 

Mallards infielder Trevor Schwecke (UW-Milwaukee) currently holds a twelve game hitting streak and collected three knocks last night. Schwecke has been named to the 2018 NWL All-Star Game along with seven of his teammates.

 

Mallards infielder Garrett Kueber (Austin Peay) has been on fire lately at the dish as he has eight hits over his last five games. Kueber has scored five runs in that span and owns a .333 average over his last ten games.
