Madison takes on Green Bay at 7:05 PM

The Madison Mallards (19-13, 47-21) head to Green Bay to take on the Bullfrogs (14-18, 26-42) tonight after winning in walk-off fashion over the Kalamazoo Growlers for the second time in a row. The Mallards have clinched their best record in team history and are preparing for their first playoff game next Monday at the Duck Pond. Madison will play on Monday in a must-win game before potentially playing again in round two again in Madison.

Probable Pitchers

The Mallards are scheduled to start Illinois righty Sean Leland tonight against the Growlers. Leland will be making his tenth start of the season and is searching for his fifth win. Leland has tossed 49.2 innings and has totaled 43 strikeouts while walking only 15 batters. Leland lasted 6.0 innings and earned a win in his last outing, allowing only two runs on four hits. Leland has held opponents to a .249 clip at the dish this season.

Green Bay starter Cody Norman will be opposing Leland tonight. Norman is 2-2 this season with a 5.11 ERA and has tossed 31.2 innings while striking out 12 and walking 18 batters. Norman has not appeared in a game against the Mallards yet this summer.

Players to Watch

Infielder Garrett Kueber (Austin Peay) collected the game-winning hit in last night’s win, knocking home Jake Randa in the bottom of the ninth. Kueber also had a key sac fly earlier in the ballgame to pull the Mallards within one. Kueber currently holds a seven game hit streak and has three RBI over his last two games.

Outfielder Cam Cratic (Madison College) has been hot at the plate lately, totaling four hits and three walks over his last four games. Cratic has nine total hits this summer through seven games. Cratic has patrolled centerfield for the Mallards since being signed nearly two weeks ago.
