The Madison Mallards had five players named to the 2018 NWL Postseason All-Stars list over the weekend. David Vinsky (Northwood), Tyler Plantier (Richmond), Jake Randa (NW Florida State), Trevor Schwecke (UW-Milwaukee) and Trace Norkus (North Florida) were all recognized in the group of the top performers in the NWL this summer. The Mallards led the league with five selections and each of the Mallards were also featured in the 2018 All-Star game and the Major League Dreams Showcase earlier this summer.

David Vinsky, who saw time at first base and in the outfield this summer, played in 70 games for the Mallards this summer and totaled a .310 batting average and a .391 on base percentage. Vinsky totaled 50 RBI, seven home runs, 86 hits and 16 doubles this season.

Mallards third baseman Tyler Plantier led the South Division in home runs all summer, finishing with 14 dingers this summer. Plantier knocked in 51 runs and posted a .950 OPS through 65 games with the Mallards.

Madison outfielder Jake Randa had a spectacular summer, collecting a division-best 22 doubles and 53 RBI. Randa also posted nine home runs and walked 37 times through 68 games. Along with Plantier and Vinsky, Randa was a fixture in the middle of the Madison lineup for the entirety of the summer.

Mallards infielder Trevor Schwecke led the Mallards with 18 stolen bases and posted a .298 average through 61 games this season. Schwecke knocked in 34 runs and hit seven bombs while reaching base at a .373 clip. Schwecke had 23 total extra base hits and had 73 knocks this summer.

Mallards closer Trace Norkus led the NWL in saves this season with 14. Norkus posted a 2.17 ERA through 25 regular season games and struck out 36 batters in 29.0 innings of work. Norkus allowed opponents to bat just .176 off of him this season.
