The Madison Mallards have announced their schedule for the 2017 season. Click here to see the full schedule. 

The Mallards will open their season at the Duck Pond against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders on Tuesday, May 30th at 6:35pm. The Mallards will then play four more home games with the opening home stand concluding on Saturday, June 3rd. Opening night will mark the debut of the newly renovated Great Dane Duck Blind. More details on the Duck Blind renovation will be released at a later date.

The Mallards play 17 home games in May/June, 12 in July, and seven in August. This summer’s Mallards schedule features 19 games on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

The first half of the season will conclude at the end of play on Tuesday, July 4th, with the second half beginning on Wednesday, July 5th. The first and second half division winners from both the North and South Divisions will qualify for the playoffs along with the next best two overall records from each division. The Northwoods League playoffs will be August 14th-18th.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Mallards will host the Northwoods League Major League Dreams Showcase on August 8th.  This exhibition double header will feature the top 100 players in the Northwoods League. The players will be selected by Major League Baseball scouts. Game one is scheduled for 4:05 pm, with game two at 7:35 pm.

The 2017 Northwoods League All-Star break, hosted by the Wisconsin Woodchucks, in Wausau, Wisconsin, will be July 17th-19th.

The aforementioned franchise in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin will join the Northwoods League South Division in 2017, along with a new club in Bismark, North Dakota, the Bismark Larks who will join the North Division. With the addition of the Dock Spiders and the Larks, the Northwoods League has expanded to 20 teams. There will be no inter-divisional games in 2017, as each team will only play the other nine teams from their division in the regular season. The North Division franchises include the Eau Claire Express, Thunder Bay Border Cats, Waterloo Bucks, Mankato MoonDogs, Duluth Huskies, Willmar Stingers, Loggers, St. Cloud Rox, Bismark Larks, and Rochester Honkers. The South Division is comprised of the Mallards, Kenosha Kingfish, Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Green Bay Bullfrogs, Lakeshore Chinooks, Wisconsin Woodchucks, Kalamazoo Growlers, Battle Creek Bombers, Rockford Rivets, and Fond du Lac Dock Spiders.
