Madison Mallards split doubleheader with Wisconsin Woodchucks.

Game 1

The visiting Madison Mallards completed their contest with the Wisconsin Woodchucks after the game was postponed after the second inning due to weather complications.

Ryan Lauk got the start for the Mallards and pitched 2 scoreless innings and only allowed one hit prior to the game being postponed.

The Mallards jumped into the lead with a 3 run 4th inning. Drake Baldwin hit an RBI double to left field to give the Mallards their first run.

The Woodchucks responded in the 6th inning where they scored 2 runs. However, it was not enough to overcome the Mallards’ lead as Drake Baldwin drove in his second RBI of the game in the top of the 8th inning to secure the Mallards’ 4-2 victory.

Game 2

The Wisconsin Woodchucks took an early lead in the second game of today’s doubleheader against the Madison Mallards scoring 5 runs in the first 2 innings.

The Mallards made an attempt at a comeback, scoring 3 runs of their own in the 2nd inning off the bats of Bryant Shellenbarger, Jacob Campbell, and Joe Hauser.

Despite their efforts the Mallards could not mount a comeback as they split the doubleheader one win a piece with the Wisconsin Woodchucks in a 7-5 loss.

The Mallards will take on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters in Wisconsin Rapids tomorrow at 6:35 pm.
