Madison, WI – August 11, 2008. The Northwoods League playoff picture has finally come into focus with the Madison Mallards set to battle the Wisconsin Woodchucks Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. in Wausau in a best-of-three series. Both teams will then travel back to Madison on Wednesday for a pivotal 7:05 p.m. game two at the “Duck Pond.” Game three, if necessary, will be played back in Wausau on Thursday at 6:35 p.m.

Fans interested in traveling to Wausau can purchase a ticket for $ 35 that includes round-trip bus fare with food and beverage, and a ticket to the game. The bus will leave Warner Park at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday and if necessary, on Thursday as well. A separate ticket will need to be purchased for Thursday’s game.

Tickets for Wednesday’s game at the “Duck Pond” are only $ 1 more across the board and can be purchased by visiting Mallardsbaseball.com or by calling the box office at 608.246.4277.

In the North Division, the first-half champion Mankato MoonDogs will battle the second-half champion Thunder Bay Border Cats beginning Tuesday.

If the Mallards defeat the Woodchucks in the first round, game one of the NWL Championship Series will be played at the “Duck Pond” on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Either the MoonDogs or Border Cats would host two games due to better overall records.
