Left field fence will be moved in, fans moved closer to the action

The Madison Mallards will break ground on the Big Mike?s SuperSection at the Duck Pond at Warner Park on Thursday, May 21. The Big Mike?s SuperSection will be constructed in the new leftfield at the Duck Pond. The leftfield Fowl Pole will be moved in to 320 feet from its current position of 350 feet. The Big Mike?s SuperSection will be placed behind a newly constructed four-foot leftfield fence bringing the fans closer to the action and further improving the atmosphere at the Duck Pond.
?The Big Mike?s SuperSection will add character, excitement, fan interaction and offense to the 2003 Mallards,? General Manager Vern Stenman said. ?With one renovation we will achieve several goals and make the Duck Pond a more enjoyable venue for our fans.?
Fans will be allowed to stand directly along the new four-foot fence in leftfield donated and installed by Quall Line Fencing. The Big Mike?s SuperSection will provide a family setting in an effort to get children as close to the action as possible. In addition to serving as leftfield wall, the SuperSection will also run along the Mallard bullpen down the leftfield line.
?We are excited to be involved because the Mallards bring fun to baseball and we want to do anything we can to make a more enjoyable atmosphere for the fans,? Big Mike Liautaud founder and owner of Big Mike?s Super Subs said. Big Mike?s has 35 locations in the greater Madison area.
The Mallards home opener is Wednesday, June 11th at 7:05 vs. the St. Cloud River Bats. Mallards Season Tickets are currently available at the Mallards office for only $150 per seat. Single game tickets are also now available at The Duck Pond at Warner Park.
