Steve Schmitt, the owner of the Shoe Box, Rookie?s Food and Spirits and the Madison Mallards, announced that Dave Boyer will take over as General Manager of Rookie?s effective October 1, 2005. Boyer is currently the Food and Beverage Manager for the Mallards. He will retain that role in addition to his new responsibilities at Rookie?s.

Boyer, who has 35 years of experience in the food service industry, has overseen the entire Mallards concessions operation for the past two years, including the Great Dane Duck Blind, the Mallards luxury suites and concession stands. Prior to working for the Mallards, Boyer was a manager at the Great Dane Pub and Brewery in Madison for six years.
